Wow i guess if you're a cake baker... this must be depressing news.
Add Portland to the list of teams that are going after the services of Vince Carter.
Sources have told TKB that Portland has been on the phone with roughly nine teams in an attempt to make a trade that will impact the franchise’s playoff hopes.
Finances are a big problem for plenty of teams in the league, but Portland, from what we’ve been told, is positioning themselves to make a big run deep into the playoffs so that they can fill the Rose Garden and collect at the door.
It’s no secret the team has been shopping Raef Lafrentz, and as we’ve said, Travis Outlaw is a key chip that will most definately be in another uniform after Thursday’s deadline.
Maybe those pieces, along with a few more, would entice the equally cost conscious Nets to ship Carter who’s days appear numbered. Kiki Vandeweghe can say that there isn’t a deal on the table for Carter, but at this point you’d have to think that he’ll take the best offer for Carter whose days are numbered. He’s been valued as a complimentary piece to playoff teams like Cleveland and San Antonio already, so trading high makes too much sense as the team will get good contracts and some talent in return.
Add Portland to the mix of those teams interested although they are still very much in the hunt for a point guard.
