How do some of you listen to this shit? Every caller just sounds uneducated about the game, ill-informed, and annoying. The hosts really aren't much better though.

One thing I really love about satellite radio is that espn radio doesn't have callers. Actually, very few of the Houston sports radio shows take callers

I'm listening to 1080 and one idiot actually said (Paraphrasing) "winning is bad because it will go to Lillard's head and make him cocky."

Herp derp.

Far better for him to lose a ton and let that go to his head I say.

750 ruined sports talk for me. I have not spent any time listening to 1080 as of yet. Sounds like I am not missing anything.

The sad thing is that 750 started out so strong..... but then fell flat. Why anyone would ever give Canzano a radio show is beyond me.

Satellite radio is great, it really puts free radio to shame.

yeah, I have to agree..when they had good hosts and a FM band, it was much better...then clownzano...cip meh, and the move to am, what a joke

I've really only ever listened to Canzano a few times, and every time I had to turn it off. It's not just his takes, but the people who call in and listen to him. Stupid people attract stupid people I guess.

I'm the opposite, I will listen to local sports talk, bad or good . . . I just want Blazer talk.

The morning commute for me sucks this days. A big win by the Blazers and I can't find one radio station during my morning commute that will talk about the game. If I'm lucky Patrick or Coward will give it a brief 30 second analysis (because it involves the Lakers).

I want/need me some morning Blazer talk . . . especially after a win the night before.

As far as callers with bad (and good) takes . . . is it any different than this board?

I think it's very different. Yes, we have some obvious trolls who are just looking to rile people up, but very very seldom do I think someone's post is just plain stupid and uneducated about the game. Conversely, I think most of the people who call in sound like they don't know the first thing about the team or the sport.

I never listen to sports radio, or talking heads on ESPN talking about sports. It's mindless drivel! Though I do tune in to courtside sometimes.

Agreed 100%. And isn't that amazing. I would think if you spend time listening to sports radio, and actually want to call in and discuss it, you'd be someone who was more of a die hard type, that visits here, versus the I casually pay attention types.

People calling just to be on the radio.

and remember that screeners have something to do with it.

I use to listen to the radio shows several years back (at least 10-15 years ago) as they had a couple of decent guys on the air, but I stopped as it became rather repetitious, boring and like you said, uneducated.

I like CIP and think he's great. Suke and Ropp are alright. Everything else sucks. Especially Canzano, he's absolutely horrible.

Stopped listening to sportstalk about 4 years ago. Just can't stand it.

I'm starting to get there. Even Greeny and Golic are starting to peeve me with their agenda stuff.

i used to listen to CIP on my way into work, now i don't.

I used to listen to JT The Brick at night, but apparently he's not on the station anymore (? they're NBC sports now?)..

And since they went AM and lost the Blazers, I haven't listened once.

Primetime is awesome. I don't listen to be informed, I listen to be entertained, and they are entertaining.

Isaac and Ropp are funny and don't take sports too seriously, which makes them listenable. Other than that, I listen to Bill Simmons' podcast, occasionally I listen to the Football Today podcast and the rest of the time it's comedy podcasts (Adam Carolla, etc.)

Self-serious sports radio is a fucking abomination.

I totally agree. The drive home is always fun, but the drive to work is painful. Not that I don't like Collin or dp, but neither of them are gonna talk about the Blazers. I was born and raised in this one horse town and in my heart of hearts I really only care about the Blazers.

It's a damn shame 95.5 didn't work out. They were all blazers all the time and I LOVED it!!! But then they screwed it all up. Maybe it's just too expensive to have an all local line up in a city this size.

The problem is what are they going to talk about in the summer?

The problem is that most of the local talent isn't very talented, because if they are (even a little) they go national.
