I liked the pick up of Lopez and its hard to tell with it being the first game and without LMA but my main concern with Lopez is foul trouble. I worry that this team has been without a rim protector for so long that we are going to over rely on Lopez therefore getting him into early and often foul trouble. Thoughts?

That's always a problem for centers who actually play defense. My solution: trade Leonard for Ekpe Udoh. It kind of makes sense for both sides: Milwaukee has players like Udoh (most obviously Larry Sanders) but no player like Leonard. We actually need Udoh more than they do.

Take a deep breath, let him play against a team not ran by CP3, and re-evaluate.

I'm not sure this is fair. the NBA is really a PG league. Lillard was just ranked near the middle of the pack of PG's (justified or not) Paul is probably the best, but there are plenty of guys a slight notch below.

Its not really Lopez I am worried about. Its the rest of the team relying on him too much.

It's CP3 paired with some of the most athletic bigs in the game. How many teams can boast a top flight point guard AND players comparable to Jordan/Griffin?

Ya I get it. I am wrong.

His post mentioned nothing about any other player, and that, and that only is what I responded to. But piling on is fun, so have at it

Trying to take anything away from that mess last night is futile - that was some awful basketball that hopefully will not be seen again this year.

They upgraded half the team and put in a completely new PnR defense and had one game against one of the best PnR teams. Lopez will be nice next to Aldridge and I think it will take time for the perimeter defenders to find the balance between gambling and making sure nobody leaks through to RoLo.

[honestly you guys on both sides sound like a bunch of teenage girls rather than Blazer fans at times]

I could give a shit less of what Internet peeps think of me.

Haha! Do you have no memory of complaining about being insulted just moments ago by one of these 'internet peeps'? Has your brain dissolved so much you can't even remember 5 minutes ago???

It will certainly be different with Aldridge in there. he is a very underrated defender.

Complained? Obviously you have to idea why I posted that. MM crying over and over again about personal attacks, happening for weeks now. When confronted; he posts insults. I was just pointing out that if he's gonna whine; then he better not insult.

For me; I don't care. Example: I think your posting style has the value of a box of used tissues.

When did I post insults?

I'm not worried about Lopez and his foul troubles. I feel like fouling out of games should be his thing. I feel like it should be Leonard's thing too but he doesn't really play defense so that's not gonna happen. We're likely to play small ball in the fourth quarter anyway. So who cares if Lopez fouls out in the third quarter.

Valid points but if he picks up 2 or 3 quick ones and has to sit early thats what worries me a little. But I am hopeful and optimistic that it works itself out as we gel.

Oh, Leonard plays D. He just plays it very poorly. When he thinks he knows what he's supposed to do, he tries really, really hard to do it.

Lopez looked every bit as good as I remember him in years past. If the Blazers are relying on Lopez to bring Leonard along and make a center out of him,
it will be a long season and then another.

Right now the biggest problem with Robin Lopez is that soon he'll be the only player left on our roster that isn't injured.

Posters get excited about T-Rob from a summer league game . . . but you can't take anything from a pre-season game.
