.Pouliot's a better offensive talent than most of those guys, so for that price they actually did ok. He'll play on the 3rd line I think, move Pyatt down. I'd have to think BB is on his way out.
only a 1 yr deal....on the +/- side is all up not much of a stat
weiters homered with davis in front of him
Whether Boyle or Pyatt fill that last spot, that is a very solid 4th line. A 4th line we can play almost every 4th shift. Good PK and FO guy in Moore. A little size with Pyatt or Boyle. And a fiesty banger in Dorsett. This is something we have lacked for a long time.
I think either way is okay. Make the same amount of money. Boyle can win faceoffs and play on the PK. Pyatt is a little better in the corners and more of a banger.Boyle brings much more to the table than Pyatt does. If you're gonna ship one out please make it him. I can live with a Boyle/Moore/Dorsett 4th line.
Pouliot was a high draft pick but his effort has been in question at times.
For 3m or so they did ok today.
6'3" 200 lbs. Yes good size. Has some talent. I like it.on the bright side, Pouliot does bring some good size to the top 9, which was going to be on the small size before this move
I like the Pouliot signing its solid and no risk. Granted its ESPN but there was an insider article on him as being a top 5 UFA bargains-
Benoit Pouliot, F, Tampa Bay Lightning
2012-13 cap hit: $1.8 million
Pouliot had just eight goals and 20 points in 34 games last season, but as a depth player on a Cup contender he could be a very attractive option. Ignoring special-teams play and lead-protecting situations, Pouliot and his linemates had the puck 53.5 percent of the time over the past four years while those same linemates were underwater (49.4 percent) without Pouliot.
BTW, I think the Devils getting Ryder 2 years @ $7m was one of the better signings today
Love Ryder at that price for them as much as I hate Clowe at 5/25
