The Nobel Prize Committee announced today that it is awarding the Prize in Medicine to Jimmy Duncan, a senior at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York, for getting a 97 on his bio-chem final.

“The Committee felt that Master Duncan has shown great promise with his outstanding grades,” said Dr. Leif Quisling, chairperson of the Nobel Prize Committee. “It is our fervent hope that this award encourages him to do great things in the future, such as find a cure for cancer.”

The next time I care about who wins the nobel peace prize will be the first time.

Keep trying Talkhard, maybe you'll win the Nobel Prize in Sour Grapes.

"While the Committee recognizes Shooter's legendary and lifelong commitment to Sour Grapes, we have chosen to give the award to Oden's Shrink. With his post count nearing a dozen, and his Sept. 2009 start date, we feel that his potential to transmit Sour Grapes throughout the interwebs -- predominantly as a member in good standing of the Blazer S2 community -- is without equal. Congratulations to all the nominees."

I don't want the Nobel Prize. Now that Obama has won it, it's not worth anything.

:biglaugh:

1. Even if you agree with this, I don't see how it is very funny..

2. Obama will, most likely, do more good things for many many many many more people than you ever will. Suggesting you would not want a prestigious award because Obama has won it is absolutely ridiculous. It is not your views that is making me lose respect for you, it is these ridiculous statements and the way you present your views. You are the epitome of a republican I cannot stand.

Every president, by the very nature of the position, has the ability to do "good things" for lots of people. Does that qualify them all for the Nobel Peace Prize??

And even if Obama does end up doing "good things" for people someday, how does that qualify him for winning the Nobel Peace Prize NOW, before he's acomplished anything?

Gee, you're breaking my heart. Where's my hanky (sniff, sniff).

Go watch that old Star Trek episode where the aliens had black skin on one side of their face and white skin on the other.

Dear lord, you just can't understand my points. This is why I have always steered clear of political arguments, they just cause me frustration and don't really serve a purpose. I do, however, enjoy a good religious debate now and then. (I would guess you're Christian, probably Catholic, could you guess that I'm an atheist?) Anyways, Yesterday was the first time I actually even posted in the OT forum, and today is my last.. At least for a while. So long, see you all in the forum where we debate the real issues of the world!

But you never answered his post.

That round goes to shooter.

Wow. Some home runs here by Howie Carr of the Boston Herald.

More B.S.: President Obama could win Kentucky Derby, too
O-bel Prize a joke

By Howie Carr

. . . Who are these rac- I mean, who are these nattering nabobs of negativism who say Barack Obama has done nothing to earn this latest handout? Of course he’s advanced the cause of world peace. Have you forgotten the Beer Summit?

. . . Is Barack still trying to quit smoking? Let’s give him the Nobel Prize for Medicine. I heard he’s finally learned the phrase “p/e” stands for price-to-earnings ratio. Surely that merits the Nobel Prize for Economics.

. . . Barack is a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. When are we going to see his SAT and LSAT scores? Must have been very good, considering he was admitted to Columbia and Harvard Law, right? Got to be editor of the Harvard Law Review without writing a single article - how do these things happen?

. . . Why don’t we just give Barack the Triple Crown right now? Not just the baseball Triple Crown, but the Triple Crown of horseracing too - he deserves it as much as he deserves this next trip to Scandinavia, a make-up call for losing the Olympics in Copenhagen.

Is it too early to get down a bet on the Kentucky Derby? I want Barack. Win, place AND show.

Those are home runs? Man, what a humor-deprived universe you and Howie Carr must live in.

Barack is a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

Not only is that a recycled joke about Bush, but it doesn't even make sense as applied to Obama. Do they even have third bases in Kenya?

It was always a bad joke when it applied to Bush, he was more likely to think he hit a double.

let's all laugh at the sad man wasting his life away on the OT forum trying to convert the world.

It's not just for Presidents. It's for people of all kinds and positions. And Obama has accomplished quite a bit in his lifetime, especially in the last year or so.

Huh? If Obama accomplished so much for world peace before he was elected President, the Nobel Committee should have given him the prize long ago. No one actually believes he has accomplished anything significant for world peace in the last year, either, but even if he had, that's irrelevant, since he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize only 12 days after getting elected.
