Simple question. Which mode do you predict the Blazers to be in right now.

Well, their m.o. has always been 'wait and see' mode since Whitsitt left. I think I'll go with that one.

They don't have the assets to trade to make the big splash. Maybe when Batum develops and some of the draft picks hit, they can do it or trade them for someone who can. If they trade now they will end up with first round exits.

This team lacks too much talent to simply re-tool. It's pretty clear IMO that this entire roster needs an overhaul.

Everything should be on the table, including trading LaMarcus.

At just 26 (going on 27) this is the perfect time to get the most value for him.

I think they consolidate the picks and look to FA.

I WISH they'd do a rebuild, depending on what we could get for LMA.

I think they will go Win Now. I wish they would go Build for future

You don't list the option that I would choose: Use both picks and add a FA.

I guess it's always possible that they trade one of the picks, but I guess the odds seem to favor keeping both.

Everything should be on the table, including trading Aldridge, but--

Who are these available vets and FAs who are younger than 30, not prone to injury, not overpaid, and will not require a pemium contract extension to stay in this small market?

So I revert to just drafting with the picks.

Why do you think that? Didn't the Olshey come out and say they wanted to acquire assets now, implying that they acquire assets first and then make the big move later (like Clippers did)?

Just my opinion. I am always wrong, so that's probably a good thing

My guess is Olshey will stay fluid. Keep on acquiring the best assets they can and also keep talking to teams about what they have. When the right deal comes a long--boom--pull the trigger. Until that point, keep on getting assets.

This. The FA market is pretty weak this year - and there are several teams under the cap

I think they'll use the picks. I don't think they'll be wowed by any offers to trade them, but more importantly, Allen loves the draft and I doubt he's willing to miss out on the fun.

I hope they keep the picks, or trade for better picks, or trade for a third pick, or all of the above. Nothing will surprise me though. The world is our oyster. Too bad I hate oysters.
