Simple question. Be as specific or as vague as you want.

My thoughts:

Trade two seconds for a second round pick. Use it on someone who won't play this season.

Sign Norm to a 4 year/80 million dollar contract

Trade Jones + future asset or Ant/Nas for a better player. Possible names: Larry Nance Jr., Tomas Satoransky, etc.

Spend tax-MLE on the first wing that says yes out of: Nic Batum, Otto Porter Jr., Justise Winslow. Backup options (no one wanted us, lmao): Rodney Hood, Maurice Harkless types etc.

Some vet mins that probably suck and can't play any playoff minutes, but young-ish: Terrence Ferguson, Alex Len, Abdel Nader, Isaac Bonga. ie. useless

Lots of lip service about how we have a top 4 starting lineup, and now have the bench to make a deep playoff run. "Larry Nance Jr. was the type of player we have been missing and he makes us a championship contender!"

"Look, we explored all avenues to improve the roster and we felt we did that. There were a few deals that were out there that we felt didn't really make sense given the timeline of the roster and our current situation."

I think he'll pull off the CJ for Simmons trade. I think it will end up being CJ, DJJ and two future firsts... maybe a third team will be involved that have something the Sixers like more than DJJ and the picks. He'll re-sign Norm to a deal that averages 21M probably for three years. He'll use the taxpayer MLE to get a backup big. Then fill out the roster with min level players.

- Powell gets re-signed.

- Melo and Kanter leave in free agency.

- i don't think we trade CJ.

- i think he throws everything he can at Detroit to get Grant (jones/ little/ elleby/ 2 picks) and we roll with a lineup Dame/Powell/Roco/Grant/Nurk

- Otto Porter for the TP MLE

- Raul Neto or Jeff Teague for the minimum.

Is this too idealistic?

Not bad, but CJ off the bench? That’s going to be a tough sell.

* Purchase a second rounder for cash (pick in the range of #50 to #60).
* Re-sign Norm to a deal averaging $24M/yr
* Trade DJJ to Chicago for Aminu
* Sign Bjelica to the Tax-MLE
* Re-sign Kanter to a $5M/yr contract
* Re-sign Melo to a vet min contract
* Sign Hood to a vet min contract
* Leave the 15th roster spot open

* Let Collins, Giles, RHJ, & Leaf walk
* Re-sign Blevins to a 2-way & let the other spot remain open

I don't think we bring back Melo and Kanter together. People would riot.

these two moves should be grounds for firing him on the spot.

Think I just threw up in my mouth.

despite being accused of already shitting on his off-season, I don't know what he'll do

my inclination is to believe he won't make any serious offers that include CJ; he might make a trade bringing in a player around RoCo's level; he'll probably sign a low-level role player for the tax-MLE; and he knows how big a failure it would be to let Powell walk so he'll overpay to make sure that doesn't happen. Then hope Billups can discover a bag of magic beans in the roster Stotts was never able to find

other than that, I'd guess he'll re-sign Zach for a minimum deal and maybe, add a 2nd round pick

I hope he does much more and takes bigger risks but I'm not optimistic

I'm not so sure. I think that has a higher probability of happening than not....

I completely agree. But will that happen?

Yep. I'm surprised you were able to keep it in....

My last prediction of Olshey's summer:
* Causes Dame to demand a trade before January 1, 2022.

It's Neil olshey. If you expect him to do anything good, you haven't been watching.

I think there's a chance he brings one of them back, but certainly not both. He shouldn't bring either back.

Hopefully Melo wants to go to the Lakers and takes that decision out of Neil's hands. Think there is mutual interest there.

He’s gonna target one of the Bulls PFs, Thad Young or Markkanen

yeah, that's pretty much on par with what I expect to see. That is, every move made will warrant a well-deserved "he should've done ______ instead".

It kind of feels like the most realistic avenue this team improves significantly is if Nas makes the jump into a starting level player, and that in itself is highly unlikely. Oh well.

You people have NO faith in NeO at least the one's who think NOTHING -- you guys realize he has to do something or better then even chance Dame is GONE within a year ish -- even NeO is not that stupid . Now what he does might fail miserably but i do believe he will DO something.

If Neil does nothing Dame will demand a trade between the beginning of the season and the trade deadline. At that point Olshey will be fired and they'll bring in someone else to handle the rebuild and make Dame wait until the off season.

Neil's job and reputation are on the line. He has to do something.

Dallas gets CJ for Porz
Sign Powell to 27m py 3 year
Leaf stays
Melo Kanter gone
Sign one other bench vet

That is an accurate statement, and a reasonable position. He hasn't really done anything to give us faith. Why have high expectations when past performance suggests the opposite is more likely?

If Neil pulls off some significant trade, I will gladly give him all the credit he deserves. I won't even make any comments about him only acting because Dame boxed him into a corner, or that he was 3 years late making big changes. But I'm absolutely not going to set myself up for disappointment by expecting him to do something that he hasn't done in his entire tenure.

I mean NeO didn't even sign a backup PG last year. How can I have any confidence that he can do what is needed for the team? He is/was too arrogant to admit that Ant is a pure SG and will never run an offense.

He will find his way into the Draft and we will hear about it tonight/Tomorrow. Hopefully we get high enough to land Moses Moody. That's the dude i want.

He will have his valet drive him around, :auto:
not talk to the press unless it is a controlled press conference, :shitstorm:
and be snarky with his answers. :smiley-bash:

Not really going out on a limb...

That's a pretty big overpay for Powell, all of the analysts are saying that 20M py is what his value is so I thought we could win any bidding with 22.
