We've seen a few players opt to play overseas rather than go to college (Brandon Jennings, Emmanuel Mudiay, Terrence Ferguson, etc), but as far as I know this is the first high-level prospect to skip college for the G-League. I'm really curious to see how he fares next season, how that impacts both his development and draft stock, and whether this prompts other expected one-and-doners to do the same.
Before commenting on the kid and his decision, I would encourage you all to read the article. Seems like the kid has put a lot of thought into his decision, and has sought input from several sources.
