Theoretical question...as a fan would you rather lose one game during the season, then go on to win the Rose Bowl or go undefeated, win the Pac Champ outright and lose in the NC game? That's essentially where these three pundits have us.

Your preference, given only the two options?

Rose Bowl take out Ohio St and solidify our recruiting class strong in the west. Losing another national championship starts to make us look like the Bills during the Thurman Thomas years.

Both of these teams will be on the cusp of making the national championship game, but their defenses will hold them back. Oregon has several new pieces on a defense that was average a year ago.

I'm open to a difference of opinion, but this is just lazy & stupid. Oregon hasn't been a sleeper program the past few years, so someone with media ambitions is expected to have done at least some homework right? This guy is years behind the curve failing to take into account what Oregon's pushing the offensive pace does to the cumulative defensive stats. They were deep & nasty last year, featuring a 1st and 2nd round draft pick. They gave up few yards per play & were among the national leaders in generating TOs.

maybe this is just another case of media catering to which markets butter their bread and ignoring those who don't, but articles like this make the W's sweeter
