"The Trail Blazers also said in a release that Oden's MRI revealed a couple of avulsions, or fractures, that "are not believed serious and do not require surgery.""

Fractures. The word scares me... like REALLY scares me... what is everyone's take on this?

Just don't aggravate it. I mean not much more can be said about it, the guy has to be careful, which will be tough playing as a big man in this league.

By saying "avulsions, or fractures" I'm assuming they mean an avulsion fracture, and were clarifying what an avulsion is for people who didn't know. If you don't know, it's when a fragment of bone is pulled off of the bone itself. Theoretically, I'd assume it might just re-ossify in the healing process. I believe it's the same type of thing that Kobe played through with his pinky finger last year.
