Caveat that this from Quick, but if even some of this is true, it’s concerning.

Yeah, listened to most of the interview last night

It's interesting. Noted how people seem happy to leave Portland (implying both CJ and Nance were happy to get out with Nance saying "what a good day" to NOLAs one year anniversary tweet of the trade and tagging CJ). He mentioned others (Hart was one, and I think there was one more) being happy. He never went into details about the bad culture shift. Just said "The practice facility wasn't a place where you could ball with your boys. It was ran like a practice facility" (that's paraphrased).

Again, it's interesting. But it's quick, and he always sounds grumpy and spiteful so his tone always sound accusatory lol. There may be some merit here. Olshey ran a tight ship.

What else was said in the interview?

Oof.

The coaching culture stuff is not a good look. The lack of professionalism at the PF is tough to hear. Youngins not following Dame is very tough to hear.

I don’t hate Quick as much as say Canzano.

But, I listened to that yesterday. He has a fractured relationship with Lillard. Because he said the team should move on from him last year. Supposedly everyone within the organization gives him the cold shoulder.

So I’m wondering how he’s privy to this kind of stuff. Also, what players on the team would have a posse that would be overtaking the practice facility, like suggests?

That was the main crux of it. He just made comparisons between Olshey and now and his main point was "Olshey ran a tight ship and this is how it's different now" mentioning primarily the practice facility and how it's changed.

One thing that did stick out is that apparently Sharpe is tardy a bit for meetings and such .. there was another player but I forget who. It's not the most surprising thing in the world that a rookie who is fresh from high school may not understand the importance of it all (and to be fair, he never gave a timeframe of when this happened and also if it had stopped. I have a feeling Dame would have corrected that).

I don't think he's privy to anything. Quick is the guy writing for the junior high paper that may have seen Susie kiss Brian in the hall while the classroom door was cracked, and Canzano was the editor.

Like I said in a previous post, no timeline was given (i.e. Sharpe being tardy) to say it had been corrected and I'm giving dame the benefit of the doubt that he corrected that. That's my beef with that. Was this in the beginning of the season, did it happen last week? He never said it changed but quick isn't the most tapped in since he fractured the relationship with Dame and most everyone there lol.

Nah, it was through a peak through the mini-blinds. We have been down this road before. Most likely manufactured drama for dramas sake.

Jason quick needs to follow Canzano out the door.

Anyone reading that and taking what Quick said seriously needs to get their head checked.

then again some of the posters replying agreeing with Quick doesn’t surprise me lmao

It's hard to be held accountable.

yeah...I think Quick has burned the bridge with Dame, all the way down; and just about all other Blazer bridges as well. I also think, going by his history, he's not above being vindictive

that said, I understand SOME of the negativity around here and that which seems valid, to me at least, all seems connected to ownership and the Vulcans

I'll also commit some heresy: the ownership the last few years of PA wasn't that great either

Ok… first Josh hart
Tweeted out his love for the organization
Played Villanova with jalen Brunson who he’s very close with. I’d be happy too? He could’ve got sent to Cleveland

second..the practice facility was tan like a practice facility? GREAT…THATS WHAT IT IS haha I swear man

you wanna go “run with the boys” then go to the park or find another profession

Don't shoot the messenger lol

I really think that the plan isn't to compete for a Championship with Dame in his prime, but rather more of a Suns model. Use a guy like Chris Paul who still has considerable skill but is past his prime and put around him extremely good players. That means developing Ant and Sharpe, keeping Grant, and hopefully grabbing some other pieces along the way.

The way I see it, yeah losing Hart and GPII was losing overall in terms of talent, but the pieces we got back give us more assets in the future. Again, I assume we wouldn't spend the money to keep Hart and that GPII was disgruntled. So we turned Hart into a 1st round pick, Thybulle (a GPII replacement) and a flyer in Reddick (a longer wing player at a position where we are undersized). We then dump a malcontent who we picked up for nothing and get in return another flyer (Knox) and five 2nd round picks, which will likely be consolidated/packaged to move up in the draft or use on other assets.

I'm no GM nor in any way knowledgable about basketball, but looking at the competitive landscape, it's tough to see a path to a Championship this year with the assets we had. Therefore, you keep your powder dry and gather assets to really make a splash when you have enough.

I've never had a problem with Quick.

The peaking through the miniblinds thing was way overblown. Many of us have been in that room, it's easy to look through the blinds onto the practice court. Kevin Durant was working out for the Blazers, none of you would have tried to see some of it? The real reason people were mad was that Quick was honking twice while everyone else was honking once.

Don't tell me what to do with my honks!

Fair assessment!

Just as an aside, notice how no one ever does microfracture anymore?

Roy, LaMarshmallow and GO played only 62 games together--they were 50-12. The idea was right, just those freaking knees. That being said, KD at the three would have been BEASTLY with those two (although LMA would have pouted his way out of here even earlier).
