--Antoine Wright was terrible for most of the game but then finished strong and even drove to the hoop a few times. I look at this as a positive--he didn't sulk and get depressed when his shots weren't falling.</p>

--So much for the mandate that "we're not going to take any games off this year."</p>

--Ghoti was right. The DVR is amazing.</p>

I think your coaching deserves a little criticism too. Frank certainly isn't a bad coach (he was one of the main reasons you beat us in the playoffs last year), but his substitution patterns didn't really make sense when you look at the Raptors' roster. Taking your Big 3 out of the game for an extended period of time is really asking for it against Toronto's bench. And some of his younger bigs (Williams looked impressive near the end) certainly wouldn't have been such a liability on D. It just seemed like he was content to ride it out and hope for the best, instead of making some obvious in-game adjustments.</p>

--I don't know what's up with Boki, he seems so uncoordinated.</p>

--Krstic takes way too long to make his move after the post-entry pass is made. And what's up with holding the ball so high above his head to gather himself? That's a turnover waiting to happen.</p>

--Even Kidd didn't have the usual intensity that we associate with him.</p>

Only RJ played well on both ends on the floor. The rest of the team seemed as if they had too much to drink the night before.</p>

With Kidd, the Nets were great. Without him, they were trash. You can say he didn't have the usual intensity, but still, we were winning with him on the court.</p>

And true, Krstic does take too long. But holding the ball above your head is better than keeping it low, or dribbling it. That would be a turnover waiting to happen...right?</p>

Yes, but when he did that the Raptors were crowding him and he was indecisive. I think this happens mostly when Krstic is posting up in the right block.</p>

So much for Boone picking up his play b/c he had a full training camp and a lot competition for his minutes. He's been bad both games.</p>

My quick thoughts on this: This is Nenad's second real game back from last season as preseason is good for conditioning but hardly a reflection of NBA regular or post season ball. The Nets are getting used to adjusting to him and a fully healthy Rj and are trying to work out the balance. Kidd is trying to get the offense going as well as integrating those to players but he and Vince are both being far too passive these first two games offensively deffering to the others. Yes I fully believe we will be at our strength with good ball movement and a couple more games under our belt as a team but until then they truly set the pace for the games. As good as RJ has been, he's easily been the best Net, we're at our strongest when Kidd or Carter is the leader of this team in that order. The benefit of a game like this is Frank having seen Sean be our best big on the floor last night, even while it was against a 2nd unit, and that he should strongly be considered as a part of our regualr rotation.</p>

The Raptors are a very versatile team who added pieces that fit flawlessly into the groundwork the team laid last season. We are clearly still trying to figure out at this point and time what works and what doesn't as we have a makeup to our team than we did last season and one that when it does will be better suited for post season play IMO. There will be growing pains much like last night but this is a marathon, not a sprint. Nobody in the NBA would have beaten Toronto last night, we just happened to be the team they were playing that's al there is to it.</p>

I was disappointed how Frank moved away from a steady offense and resorted to letting the team jack up threes early in the shot clock once we were down by 15. So of course it shouldn't surprise us that we fell behind by a ton once they weren't going in either.</p>

Sean looked nice, but there were times when he looked LOST out there. There was one play where Malik was in the post, someone on the wing (Darrell maybe?), and Sean at the top of the key. Sean stopped for a second, looked for something to do, and then went to go set a pick. He then rolled (a good sign) but did so right into Malik. Malik got it in the post, but then had to beat his own man along with Sean, and his defender. Spacing, my boy.</p>

Oh I definately agree that there were some flubs on Sean's part but at the same time looking who he was on the floor with and the way they poorly played as well I chalk that up to plain miscommunication as well as the Raps doing a good job of messing up a leaderless unit on the court. I think his good far outweighed the bad and stuff that could be better worked out with another guy in the post that has played the system before. While Malik did take to the system quickly during camp we saw last season how big of a difference it was to have Cliff and Collins on the floor with Mikki an Josh as they could point the new guys where they needed to be. DA,Wright, and Boki aren't gonna be able to do that for Sean like our vet bigs last year could. We have alot of new additions but out of all of them I think Sean showed the most promise and should see more time to get those mistakes out of his system. I think the rest of our guys are trying to figure out their roles as well and we are definately hurting from not having Marcus who can shoot as well as set up the offense and feed our bigmen where they can get good shots.</p>
