Charlie Louvin and his brother Ira were/are the most influential harmonizing duet in country music spawning many imitators (Everley Brothers) and earning the respect of musicians across many genres including The Beatles, Beck, The Byrds, Jack White, Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. Ira was killed by a drunk driver in 1965, but Charlie had performed steadily until he got pancreatic cancer recently.
