[emoji25] Loved the Hot Licks. Got into them in college. Also loved the Charlatans, they were a huge influence on the Jerry Garcia & co.

If you were in Southern California and San Francisco from 1971-1973 there were concerts everyday..Balboa park in San Diego had these 3 day festivals all the time with non stop bands...I was stationed in San Francisco waiting for my orders to Viet Nam for a few months and saw a ton of great shows. Those days are gone now but it was a great time to be there. Dan Hicks used to play San Diego shows all the time. Usually as an opening act for Maria Muldare or Jim Croce etc..Doug Sahm...if I ever saw him, it was probably him as a sideman...never saw the Sir Douglass Quintet..
