A Tip of The Cap to a Real American.

My wife recently made me sit down and watch the episode of Route 66 that was filmed in Oregon City when she lived there as a child. You really got to see a lot of the town throughout and the filming was a huge deal at the time. From what she remembers, The local HS girls swooned over George Maharis and tried to follow him everywhere but left Milner alone, as he was married. He also fit in well and was pretty much a regular guy during his time in OC.

His Route 66 was great, but I alway remember him a the young kid in the war movies. He was always the casualty, him and Richard Jaeckel.

In both shows he played the average looking guy with the handsome partner. Maris' Route 66 video reminds me that once upon a time, 2 guys could travel without anyone thinking they might be gay. Ah, the freedom of a Corvette.

No, it was alright to be gay then and most of the time, they were. I think you are thinking of a different word, gay still had the traditional definition.
