Robin Williams...dead at 63

...damn, what a talent.

...RIP

I'm shocked by this. He was known to have suffered from depression which obviously lead him to take his life. It's a real shame that such a long and storied career ends like this.

The man was one of the greatest comedic talents I have ever seen. I grew up enjoying his idol Jonathan Winters. He was in the process of filming Mrs Doubtfire 2. What a waste.

So sad! I am beyond shocked & saddened....

Depression is never taken seriously....

It's a very difficult thing to understand but it shows you what a dangerous thing depression and mental illness is. On the surface we would all think what would a rich and famous person be depressed about. Unfortunately, it's how their brain is wired.

Holy Mother of God, NO.....

definitely one of the All Time greatest comedians to grace this Planet.

Depression oft comes and goes with the highs of life, then come the lows.....I can't imagine what demons Robin struggled with.

Suicide, damn it..... I've always said, if you want to take your life, alter it, to live on the edge of the envelope of death.....like Chuck Yeager...!

Parachute into the Yukon, take up dangerous hobbies, anything just don't do it....!

Did he forget about the story in "What Dreams May Come"?

His live from the Met was one of the funniest comedy concerts I've ever seem. His rapid fire was just amazing. A true comedy genius.

R.I.P. I am so saddened by this. Robin was a truly terrific human being.
Just one anecdote of many that showed him to be very special.
One day in the 1980s, I forget which year, Robin took time from his
busy schedule to visit sick children in a Bronx hospital. I recall hospital
execs, doctors and nurses wanting to meet this man. Robin was very
cordial, but was interested in seeing the children.....and that he did.
He visited each room in the children's ward and he brought smiles
to every child. I was really taken with his generosity and humility.
He, indeed, was a very special human being.
He will be missed.

Just a note about depression.....
Depression takes people to places no one wishes to enter....but they are
always helpless.

I've always heard, Robin was very gracious to any one he met. He did not go out seeking strangers, yet he never turned one down for an autograph of a few words.

His Fans he never shied away from, often saying, "if it weren't for my Fans, I'd not have the life of luxuries I have, so yes, I will be more than happy to sign your item"....

SOB-one of the greatest humanitarians, and comedians, fine men, this world has ever seen.

Depression is nothing to scoff at. A disease, many have yet no one knows about, others illnesses. Depression is something not easily discussed openly. To often one feels as if they are alone in this world. Even a very rich actor......money can't buy everything, and a rich man is really no different than a poor man, in some ways.....

Where was his Patch Adams, very saddened to hear of his demons getting the best of him

Heard an update today... Hung with belt & had cuts on wrists with pocket knife on his person.... Tox screen will take a couple of weeks...

I just now heard as much, 4 hours after you posted this....thanx....very very effing sad.......Health Care needs to provide more attention, and $$$ to studying Depression, as well as PTSD.....

So many people taking anti-depressants, I've talked with, often experience even more suicidal thought, tendency.....

Not sure if, or what the answer is- (if there even is one, which I doubt).........to truly over come depression...?

I have a dear friend of mine down at the VFW & all he talks about is how life sucks & that his biggest wish is that he could go to sleep & not wake up. I've spoken to him for hours on end & it helps that he gets his mind right but its only for a short time. Trouble is people can only get help for depression if they want to, otherwise there's really not much that can be done.

You know what IS depressing is knowing Robin Williams will never again BLESS US with his gift of laughter......what a genius the man was, when it came to giving the gift of laughter......nothing much better......!!!

Just thinking 'bout Robin, depresses the piss out of me....!
