Famed consumer advocate Ralph Nader, who’s run for president a few times himself, would like to see Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) make a bid for the 2016 Democratic nomination.
During an appearance this week on Fox News Talk Radio, Nader said “it’s very bad for the Democratic Party to start a coronation of Hillary Clinton.”
“Because what happens if she stumbles and there’s no one else known to take her place?” Nader asked talk-show host Alan Colmes. “So I’m for a Governor O’Malley of Maryland following through on his declaration to others, including me in a meeting I had with him about a year ago, that he was not intimidated by Hillary Clinton and he’s going all the way for the Democratic nomination.”
