I thought it could be kind of fun to have a game to see who get's the closest to the actual draft picks (1st round only).

You can update your mock all the way up to when the Timberwolves are on the clock

Sooo maaaany possibilities to collate, by the 5th pick, my head explodes.

Can we throw in a couple trades into the mock too?:crystalball:

Ok well I'm gonna throw some darts and try and predict a few trades, however if the order stay the same this is still the same exact order I'd predict the draft

DENVER trades Ty Lawson to NEW YORK for 4th pick, Jose Calderon

-Knicks shed a terrible contact while getting a legit starting PG while keeping their cap space
-Denver gets their first young building block

DENVER trades Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, 2020 first round pick (top 10 protected) to ORLANDO for 5th pick, Channing Frye, Aaron Gordon, Moe Harkness

-Denver gets another young building block, and young pieces in Gordon and Harkless
-Orlando gets a starting PF and a legit 6th man off the bench, get to shed Frye's terrible contact, thus keeping some cap space to build even faster

3 way trade:
BOS recieves: 6th pick
SAC recieves: Avery Bradley, Miles Plumlee, 16th pick
MIL recieved: Kelly Olynyk, 33rd pick

-Boston gets the defensive big they need in WCS, uses savings on Bradley to pursue a starting SG
-Sacremento gets their starting SG in Bradley, trades down into optimal range to draft a backup PG which they sorely need
-Milwaukee gets some outside shooting they need in Olynyk, to open up the interior for MCW and Giannis to penetrate and dish

But we don't even know who will be on our team next year. So I think my draft pick will be if we sign Kevin Love.

Wow! Really high on Vaughn and low on Booker?

Wow! Really high on Vaughn and low on Booker?
For now. I reserve the right to modify this list at any moment. :breakdance:
There always seems to be someone drafted a bit higher than expected, and someone always drops. I just couldn't find a nice 'fit' for them earlier.
DraftExpress.com currently has Booker at #9, and Vaughn at #23.
NBADraft.net currently has Booker at #14, and Vaughn at #22.
Both are very young and full of potential.

Don't forget Jarrell Martin was promised a 1st round selection

Okay, I'm giving in and moving Booker up.

But I don't buy into this '1st round promise' yet. That seems like a stretch. -

Young brings something to the table that the Lakers desperately need: shooting. And the fact that he hasn't worked out since the combine is suspicious. Multiple sources believe that a team in the late first round made him a promise in exchange for not working out for other teams.

Interesting call with Oubre falling to the Blazers at #23. I'd like to see that happen. DraftExpress.com currently has him at #15, and NBADraft.net has him at #25 (Blazers passing on him and Delon Wright to select Looney). That's a big drop from Oubre showing up in earlier mocks as late lottery.
I thought of it this way, OKC is the team I think Martin got promised, he fits their need for a Jeff Green type tweener.

Atlanta wont pass up on Trey Lyles, WAY too talented and fills a need/potential hole.

Boston needs another real big, Portis seems like their kinda guy.

Milwaukee doesn't have any real needs/holes besides center (which Upshaw is a possibility but doubt it happens) so I think they prepare for Dudley leaving and take the local talent to keep fans happy.

Houston needs a point guard, Tyus makes too much sense here.

Washington could happen but I think Looney would be fit them better than Oubre.

Toronto needs defensive wing help, RHJ makes WAY too much sense.

Dallas needs to prepare for Rondo and/or Ellis bouncing, they either go PG or SG.

Chicago could definitely take Oubre but Anderson fits them a little better (well he fits the Thibs Bulls... Maybe Oubre fits the Hoiberg Bulls better?) and is insurance for Butler.

-The way Lyles plays fits Atlanta perfectly
-Portis to Boston makes a lot sense
-I got a gut feeling Milwaukee will trade 17 for Olynyk and 33. They need a big and they need shooting, why not get both.
-Tyus' offensive game involves a lot of midrange shooting, not sure if he'll fit
-Toronto needs a guy that can defend and shoot to fit next to Derozen. I think Anderson would fit better

Milwaukee is so hard to predict. I just have no true clue what they do, their team does need shooting and a center but they have good players at the 5 if they get minutes. I mean look at their current team as constructed:

MCW / Bayless / Ennis
Middleton (RFA) / Mayo
Giannis / Dudley (Probably gone) / Butler (Buyout?) / Inglis
Parker / O'Bryant / Williams (Gone?)
Henson / ZaZa / Plumlee

Houston needs a PG, Tyus is the only true Point Guard in this draft after Payne.

I could see Anderson going to Toronto but I think RHJ is a Casey/Ujiri type player.

Guess I'm wrong, if someone like Grant falls I still think they'd take them

Jones is a player who doesn't mess up much, he wont win you games but he wont lose you any either. He is the prototypical game manager, the ideal guard to put next to Harden offensively. He reminds me of a TJ Ford type (Less quick but a better shooter).

Yeah but Grant is the ideal gaurd to put next to Dwight and is a better defender. Big enough to guard either position which could hide Harden on the worst guard. Jones is just meh
