As do I.
You deserve this!I first started following the Blazers in the Drexler-Porter-Kersey-Buck years, when they had an IDENTITY. One of the core features of that was being the best damn rebounding team in the league (despite usually having nobody in double figures). And that continued for years until basically we were starting Cliffy at PF. Well... WE'RE BACK, BABY!
Freakin awesome Buck Williams! With the way Harkless has struggled, Aminu might be a better starting option at SF.So what's the rotation when Aminu comes back? I would prefer Dame-CJ-Aminu-Biggie-Nurk and Turner-Napier-Harkless-Vonleh-Davis in the 2nd Unit
Just use DRTG.I'd also like to see the pace adjusted numbers for defense. Since the Blazers don't run (next to last) the pace is very slow so points allowed is going to be lower. I really thing there is an opportunity to run more as we rebound it so well.....and then don't take advantage of the opportunities that should create.
We are top 3 in defense Rating right now, it should definetly be top 10 till the end of the RS. But we are only 16th in offensive Rating, and we played against some shit teams. We are only 24th in 3pt FGA per game with 28.9 attempts per game and only 22nd in 3pfg%. So if we sacrifice a little bit of defense for shooting, i think it would made us better and would also help our big 3 to take the pressure from them
We have enough good defenders, i think this Team needs a bit more shooting, that would everybody help, especially Nurkic in the paint and probably Dame and Cj as well so the opposing defense has to guard another shooter
Dviss, I'm insulted.
If we were actually in a position to be competitive deep into the Playoffs then I agree that Lee would be a decent target*. But we're not. There's no point in spending any resources (personnel, draft picks, or luxury tax dollars) on Courtney Lee. The only way trading for Lee would make sense is if we were clearing out Meyers' or Turner's contract...and NYK isn't interested in doing that.Dviss, I'm insulted.
We don't have enough of either. Our defense is better, but we definitely need more of both. The biggest thing were missing is a 3-and-D guard/wing.
An addition of Courtney Lee would do wonders for this team. Connaughton is an awful defender and only valuable if his 3-ball is falling. Courtney Lee is a better, more consistent shooter, better off the bounce (not saying much), and MILES ahead of Pat on the defensive end.
An addition like that is what the team needs to be looking at.

*Then again, if we were in a position to be competitive deep into the POs it would likely mean that we have players better than Lee, and therefore Lee would be an insurance policy rather than a rotation player.

Lmao! Most people get insulted when their name is mentioned.![]()
With Lee and improvement upon our flaws, we could compete against any team except for Golden State. That's worth it to me. I'd trade Davis to a team like BOS (they have an $8M injury exception from Hayward, that they can use in a trade for an expiring contract, and they need a backup PF, so Davis is a perfect target for them). Id ask for their 1st then flip it to NYK for Thomas and Lee(TPE). This would help NYK clear cap space for next summer. If we were actually in a position to be competitive deep into the Playoffs then I agree that Lee would be a decent target*. But we're not. I like the Lee idea, but my proposal would be:With Lee and improvement upon our flaws, we could compete against any team except for Golden State. That's worth it to me. Courtney Lee is definitely good enough to play minutes on a playoff team. 40%+ 3pt shooter and would be our best wing defender. A perfect fit for our team, and is basically what we hoped Crabbe would be.
I like the Lee idea, but my proposal would be:
Harkless + Meyer
for
Lee + O'Quinn
Then flip either Davis or KOQ to Boston for their first.
I'd look at trying to pick up Mario from Orlando for a 2nd rounder to replace Mo.
