...they're delusional ...if they have "got a lot of money to spend", why didn't they go ahead and lock up Lester instead of allowing him to escape their control?
...as far as Cespedes, he's now essentially a 1 year rental because his contract expires after next season.
...if the Sox were not willing to offer Lester enough money to stay, what makes them think they can simply snap their fingers once he hits the FA market and he'll sheepishly return to Boston at a discount?...and if they were not willing to pay Lester, what makes them think they can also lure Scherzer and/or Shields for similar money?...both will get more than what the Sox offered Lester. (4 years/$70 million)
...as far as Stanton, after last night, we don't know if he'll ever be the same again.
