Count the New York Rangers among the teams interested in Andrej Sekera.

A previous report from Elliotte Friedman also listed the Dallas Stars as a potential suitor, although Carolina is also still interested in re-signing him. The sticking point will likely be the asking price, which is reportedly a first-round pick and a prospect. If the Hurricanes are willing to take less though, then the Rangers are expected to attempt to pry Sekera away.

They're on crack asking for a first rounder.

There's always one idiot GM out there who will pay the asking price.
Never fails.

Like Nashville who got Fransen who sucks defensively and Santorelli who is a 3rd line, role player. Carolina will get a 1st.

I don't think they will get a 1st, but who knows. I know I wouldn't deal a 1st for Sekera.

It is nothing like the Fransen Santorelli deal, but that deal had Fransen AND Santorelli in it and they only got a late 1st. Sekera is not as valuable as Fransen IMO, and there is no Sant to package him with, so I don't think they get a 1st, but teams get desperate at this time of year, so you never know.
