agianst his own party?!?!?!?

I wanted to send you my thoughts about the Obama speech to kids …

“In the year since I issued a prepared statement regarding President Obama speaking to the Nation’s school children, I have learned a great deal about the party I so deeply loved and served. Unfortunately, I found that many within the GOP have racist views and I apologize to the President for my opposition to his speech last year and my efforts to placate the extremists who dominate our Party today. My children and I look forward to the President’s speech.”

Jim Greer

Burning bridges 101 right here folks.

If what he says is true, perhaps he should be applauded for calling it out.

The best part of that page is the the comment section at the bottom. There are some gems in there:

I have to be honest, I don’t like most Black people, I am sure they feel the same way about most White people. I don’t hate them I just don’t want to be around them. It’s a culture thing. I don’t have this feeling for any other group or race of people, including gays, just Blacks. It takes a fake front by me to get along with them. I am sure the fake front applies to many besides myself, I am just being honest about it. This will really anger many, so be it. OK, I am ready for the verbal name calling: Racist, ignorant, red neck, white trash, bubba, etc..

They may be parody posts though...

against his own party?!?!?!?

Uh, you left a little part of the story out . . .

Greer’s been forced out as party chairman, is facing criminal charges over his handling of RPOF finances and is engaged in a scorched-earth campaign with his former associates . . .

Helps put his comments in perspective, don't you think?

Yeah, he's uh... well I already said it "burning bridges". I wasn't trying to mislead you. I put the link in so you could read further for yourself. (Plus it's bad form to copy and pasted entire articles)

The republican party is having some troubles at a crucial time. With this and all the conservative talk heads bashing Rove it looks like they might not do as well in the midterms.
