So, what do you think? Will he get the nomination for the republicans?

Hope so.

Sounds like fun. Hope he picks Bachmann to run with him.

Obama's approval rating is going south pretty fast right now, and there's little in the cards to make things better for the common man. You may hope so, thinking he's easy for Obama to beat, but I am seeing the election being a referendum on the past 4 years. If so, Palin would beat him.

I suggest we hope for Obama to turn things around or someone actually good who'll replace him. The former not looking likely, and perry may be good enough.

Yeah, well, you can keep hoping that anyone, even Palin, can beat Obama, but that's not the way it works. Voters always care who the opponent is.

Presidential elections are almost always a choice of the lesser of two evils, and if the Republicans want to make Obama appear less evil, that's their funeral.

The voters are going to care that Obama is the opponent. Throw the bums out mentality is hard to overcome.

The risk for Obama, like I said, is people may like him better, but it will have come to the point that ANY change can't hurt but is the only chance to turn things around.

Obama won't be able to run on his record, so his best strategy is to smear, ridicule, or otherwise bring down his opponent. I don't mind, actually, because I realize politics is a contact sport. But it's fair to call it like I see it, and I see this strategy is already in action in a big way.

Perry has hardly had a chance to outline his platform, but he will get the chance. And the biased media is on board with the bring Perry down strategy. I don't think it's a case of them just doing their job.

He'll also get the motherfucking filthy rich badass vote.

I can deal with his religious extremism if he can heal the economy.
