Right now we are tied with Minnesota

I think I had Minny as ninth or tenth in the west, not playoffs but making some noise and falling just short. Of course I had us #2 in the west and we'v seen that were not even a lock for the playoffs.

Two games against the TWolves in the next week. Are you ready to be looking up at them in the standings?

Kevin Love is just a guy putting up empty stats on a horrible team.....Oh wait....

If the guy was on fire, I wouldn't piss on him to put him out......but how anyone can deny that he is a productive basketball player is beyond me.

Well duh, he doesn't play for the Blazers and he scorned the Ducks.

He was all of last year. This year he is treated like a superstar so he makes 7.3 FT a game compared to his 2.3 last year. He improved his D (still not good but suddenly isn't as big of a liability as last year) which I thought was beyond him. I still wouldn't trade LMA for him him.

Maybe finishing at the bottom of the division will make those at the top realize that big changes need to be made, because they seem perfectly fine to just tread water.

Add into the fact our future is the bleakist of the division maybe we can get a coach/GM change finally.

Because he's white and we all know crackers can't ball.

Seriously, I wanted him on draft day, but I've always valued rebounding more than most posters on this board. He came into this season in great shape, has vastly improved his defense and finally has some decent guards on his team (Minnesota's guards last year sucked worse than ours this year). He won MIP last year by a landslide, is a more complete player this year and surrounded by better teammates.

But haters always gonna hate...

Has little to do with superstar calls and more to do with the knack of understanding how to draw fouls. He's great at it. He improved his D because he came into camp way slimmer than last year and can move laterally much better.

I remember getting in discussions last year on this and another board about Love and multiple posters comparing him to a guy like Shareef Abdur-Rahim. A stat monger that only was capable of putting up good #'s on a bad team. I insisted all he needed was a little bit of talent around him (which they got) and a new coach (which they got).

No we aren't. Minny is 18-18. We are 18-17. How is that tied?

Minny beats Phoenix tonight and we lose to Miami, were looking up at them. Who woulda thunk?

Next up: Fighting it out with Utah for last place in the Northwest Division. Good thing we have the cupcake Hornets at home tonight. Although, the way the Blazers have been playing, this is far from a given. NOH has won 5 of their last 10, including three on the road. They also took the Pacers to overtime before losing, only lost to the Bulls by 4, the Thunder by 8 and beat the Mavericks.

If the Blazers lose to the Hornets and the Jazz beat Cleveland, the Blazers will be in last place.

How depressing...

A loss tonight might be the straw that broke the camel's back.

It would have to be. I think the Blazers will throttle the Hornets though. It would be a decent time to make a move because the team embarks on a tough road trip.

Think about this. Mr. Sonic had a longer tenure in Portland than Adelman. This amazes me, knowing Adelman took us to the finals two separate occassions and 3 WCF appearances.

Thanks a lot Mags. Its was depressing to think about before that thought and now its just disgusting. :)

I think it was Zags who asked the question.......Has any coach been tenured longer with one team without making it out of the first round than Nate?

Sorry buddy... I was just thinking about it when I was reading this thread. Seeing Minny looking promising with a great coach, while we sit in turmoil with a terrible one.

We had a shot at getting Adelman last summer. Still pisses me off thinking we dropped the ball again.

No one ever answered. According to my research, no one has.

It funny how Kahn went from laughing stock of the league to amassing talent and depth at every position and a legit playoff contender in just a couple years.

And how Nate went from one of the best young coaches in the league to not being able to utilize the talent he has, according to the analysts.

Cue the Cyndi Lauper music

If we only win 1 or 2 games on this trip, I'm going to be officially on lottery ball watch, instead of playoff watch.
