Just heard it on Mike and Mike. Sad day in Blazerland. Let's win a ring for him this year. RIP Dr. Jack.

Dr. Jack has passed away

Mike & Mike show just reported that. Very sad news.

I hope he was able to watch the game last night. They said he passed in his sleep. It's always sad when someone goes, but if he watched that game and then fell asleep and passed, I bet he died with a smile on his face.

May he rest in peace. May the Blazers win another title in his memory.

I'm going to work today wearing plaid pants (yes, I proudly own plaid pants).

Spritually, I am agnostic. On nights like last night, however, I can't help but think that we had a little help from the man upstairs. Dr. Jack left this world with the legacy that his Blazers played Ramsay ball last night and came out on top.

Thank you, Coach Ramsay. You were so much more to this city than a basketball coach.

RIP Dr. Jack. Thank you SO MUCH for what you have done for my city.

Sad day in Portland. May he rest in peace and may the Blazers feel inspired to win it for him this year.

He's well before my time, but his passing was the first thing I saw on twitter as I woke up this morning. Sad news-- I hope the team honors him in some manner.

A wonderful story, with a tremendous compliment

“The best way I could describe him is, whether he was doing a game nationally or locally, I would tune in, both myself and staff,” San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “Because I wanted to hear what he would say about what each team was doing. What this team was doing, what this person was doing on a pick-and-roll, what this team was doing on offense. It’s like going to class.”

I've never met the man, yet if can't hold the tears back. That's impact. R.I.P.

I lost my father at much too young of an age about a week and a half ago and now Dr. Jack. My heart aches. RIP to both!

I met Dr. Jack when I worked at the Rusty Pelican in the early 80's. He was a very a nice man. R.I.P.

Respect for the legend, Rest well and best wishes to your friends and family.

RIP Dr. Ramsay. You've meant so much to so many. We thank you more than you could know.

A Tip of The Cap to a Real American, a coach's coach.

Thanks for the memories, Jack.

I'll tell you guys why the loud pants. We who were young showed our liberalism through long hair. Older guys with no hair in the front like him grew it in the back, but also resorted to clothes to show they were with us. Even back in the 50s, no one wore a black suit except to a funeral. The darkest you went was IBM blue. Many men wore suits with small patterns. In the 70s, older guys went with lighter jackets like pale blue or yellow. Patterns were bigger, like in his picture above, as a substitute if you couldn't grow your hair.

Then Reagan was elected, the party was over, and America Is Back.

RIP to the only coach that coached our team to the promise land. He was a great mentor and commentator as well!

Thank you jlprk!

When your last parent dies, try to keep sibling inheritance disputes away from lawyers. Those fucks will take your whole inheritance while charging you to do so. Once the legal process begins, you can't back out. Speaking from experience.
