A friend asked me who the artist was in the video (Rock & Roll heaven) shown right after Stevie Ray Vaughn (toward the beginning) & I didn't know, Rob, Ron, any idea?

...yup, that's Duane Allman...ran his cycle into a peach truck right after their album "Eat a Peach"...a short time later their bassist Berry Oakley drove his cycle into a watermelon truck and was also killed.

...here's a pic of Berry and Duane;

Wow, now that IS Ironic with Georgia's incredible Produce, (not meaning to make any fun of this very sad death(s), but a peach, then a Watermelon truck.....shitfire, that's crazy stuff....

Hey 59, it was raining when Duane was killed, right? What about Berry, I had forgotten all about Berry....sad very sad, two greats for sure....with tons of music they would of still been playing, for another decade to come....

...not sure if it was raining or not but I do remember that the Allman Bros were a big deal down here in the early 70's...and it was devastating when in happened...kinda like the day Skynyrd's plane crashed.

...Duane was the one who got Clapton into playing slide guitar...in fact Duane plays slide on "Layla" when he was with Derek and the Dominos.

My wife left me five years ago I'm a happy married man,
Now I run free all over town, jumping all the women I ca.

A Duane Allman Muscle Shoals Studio out take I once hears.

Yep, Duane was as good as it gets; without Duane w/Derek and The Dominoes, it may of otherwise been a bust...ie D&TD....

Seems very few inspired Clapton. Hendrix for one, Robert Johnson (from the 20s) Duane Allman, and J.J. Cale, and I think that's about it.....???

...I saw the Allman Brothers 2-3 times...saw 'em once in Macon and about half way through the concert they had a "guest" get on stage with them. At the time, I had never heard of him but he could play the hell out of the harmonica and sang like I had never heard a white boy sing before...as it turned out it was Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie.

...here's a great live tune from their album ...great lyrics...and needless to say, VERY suggestive lyrics the guitarist (Ricky Hirsch);

"I say I wanna go out on picnic with you baby,
Under the big bright yellow sun.
Daddy, I'll take care of yo hot dog,
If you'll take care of my bun."

After two weeks congestion has cleared, just an occasional dry cough. Finally got 8hr of uninterrupted sleep and feel good today.

They say this has been a mild flu season, but this bug has been one of the toughest I've seen since early 90s. I know more people that have been hospitalized by this.

I'm going through it myself now Tom, Bronchitis with a touch of pneumonia. It's knocked me on my ass but feeling a little bit better each day.

I hear ya' Tote, this is the 2nd time in 3 mos, We've had an abnormally bad flue, (high fevers, can't keep water down, et al); very reminiscent of the "Hong Kong" Flue of 68-69, a literal 'Killer'....

A nice sentiment — and a far cry from Richards’ previous assessment. Specifically, in his 2010 memoir “Life,” Richards dismissed Prince as an “overrated midget.”

It seems that the “When Doves Cry” singer’s stature has grown in Richards’ estimation, since passing away in his Minneapolis home on Thursday morning. Then again, it did take Richards an entire day to write the Twitter tribute.

Richards’ Rolling Stones bandmate Mick Jagger weighed in on Prince’s death on Thursday, calling him “one of the most unique and exciting artists of the last 30 years,” as well as “an original lyricist and a startling guitar player.”
