2011 BOWL SCHEDULE AND PREDICTIONS
NEW MEXICO
MATCHUP: Mountain West vs. Pac-12 #7
PROJECTION: Temple * vs. Oregon State

THE BCS GAMES
ROSE
MATCHUP: BCS vs. BCS
PROJECTION: Oregon vs. Wisconsin

I think fans could live with another Rose Bowl appearance. We should know more after Sept 3rd. Oregon State to New Mexico Bowl? Possibly, but they have a lot of holes to fill on defense and RB.

Rose Bowl is the least I expect this year. Less would be a let down for me.

well yeah that too. But what I mean is I think the program is now at the point where they can expect to at least be in the mix for a BCS bowl on the last week of the season. They might not be on the level of Alabama and co where they expect to be in the mix for BCS National Title game appearances each year. But def that next tier right below.

I'll take any Bowl for the Beavs. Of course I would like to win the Pac-12 championship, but I'll settle for a winning record. We have a chance to be much better than most people think we can be.

I would just feel better if the LSU game was game #2!

I'm very excited about that game and don't have any issue with where it falls on the schedule. I especially like the matchup of Kelly vs Miles.

for this season I'll be hoping for a trip to Pasadena just like every other year. Just like every other year I'm nervous about injuries derailing that hope. A team has to be both lucky and good to make it there.

Oregon could benefit from this being the first game. Agreed, it be great if we had one game under us for that OL to gel. But, we have a good amount of returning starters across the board. Where we lost key starts (OL, LB, WR) we return experienced starters and younger players who benefited BIG TIME from all the Oregon blowouts with lots of playing time.

I think LSU has more to lose in a first game. They have issues at QB. Jefferson has started plenty of games but is coming off a season that only saw him air out 1300 yards, 10 INT's and 7 TD. If you saw him last year, his timing was terrible. I didn't see their spring game but reports said he looked terrible. LSU just had their OC step down. He was new and was changing things. So, I have to guess things are a bit a mess and confusing. They are young at RB - with a SO looking to start, backed up by two FR. They are also thin and lacking for experience at WR.

Their defense lost DT Nevis and Levingston, leading tackler LB Sheppard, and leading INT CB Peterson. Oregon is going to be a tough matchup for these new players to gel and adjust to "Duck Speed". GO DUCKS!

So are they a high scoring team? If our offense is clicking like last season, we should win right? Just worried about not having Cliff.

better Defensively than Auburn. Not high scoring per say though. 29.5 ppg last year. But top 10 in a few defensive categories.

LSU is expected to have one of the best defenses in the country. It will be a tough matchup for the Ducks.

I'm more concerned about us stopping THEM, then them stopping US!

think of it this way... they aren't much of a passing team and Cliff doesn't offer much in run support. I expect Terrance Mitchell will do fine in his place
