<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"We have to make sure that Marcus keeps his confidence and stays aggressive. We need him. We need him," Jefferson said without solicitation after Williams (eight points, four turnovers) had an unremarkable 18 1/2-minute performance. "We can't have him do what he did last season and just kind of fade away. We need him to play, and to be productive, and to be aggressive. He needs to play like a second starter. He has to.</div>

Fuck off. Play some defense.

You don't play defense, either?

Why play defense when I can just outscore them. By only shooting threes.

Sounds like jealousy!

He's a Husky, has a great job, a good salary, AND just got a new CHEVY COBALT!

que?

Lets keep this on topic please. Unless you can bash Marcus without objective thought in spanish.

Yes, that's a challenge

EDIT: oh whoops didn't know you were cooking up some Microsoft Paint. en fuego!!

RJ needs to call himself out first.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kdub @ Mar 3 2008, 02:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>RJ needs to call himself out first.</div>

True. Between the Orlando game and this one, he's stunk pretty good in two of the last three.

and a leader has stepped up ... no offense but this definitely needed and he didn't call him out like "yo you suck" this is RJ being the voice & a leader telling Marcus your better than this we need you and I agree w/ RJ. Marcus homey Devin comes in shoots a 3 w/o thinking you hesistate alot just step it up and you are our best PG we need you dammit

SO WAKE THE F U C K UP HUSKIE

Don't think it was RJ saying that Marcus has been bad as much as it was a message not to disappear again once he's no longer the starter.

What gave you that idea? Where he said he would have to play like a '2nd Starter'?

Haha.

So funny how people jump to conclusions so easily.

Yeah right... the reporters blow a comment out of proportion for a headline.

That's their job. Can't really fault them as much as people who don't read carefully enough, starting to imply things. While he didn't outright say as a sub, or a guy with limited minutes, nor did RJ labeling him as the '2nd Starter'.

If you read the article 2, RJ goes on to say how he thinks Marcus leads the team in 3pt%, and they count on his for big things.

Last season I heard him say he had a range rover.

Yup, he rocks a 2006 Range Rover or did.

Here's the appropriate response when a no-defense-playing black hole like RJ makes comments about you.

He's our leader now which is good. He should just try not to 'fade away' either and start attacking.

Ha! RJ calling out someone after his game against the spurs

Marcus needs to step it up. With Kidd gone, there's no excuse for his poor play He's practically handing the starting job over to Devin Harris. Sure he's been in the doghouse for a long time, but here's his chance to prove that he is worth playing.

Honestly his passing has been really solid and his defense has been better than advertised, he just needs to start hitting his shots at a better % and he'll be all right. His form is good, he just needs confidence, I think he'll get there given time.

Thanks RJ...thanks. But as other posters have said, who's gonna tell you to step it up? I can't stand RJ's below par ball handling skills and his knack for not passing the ball. Frank needed to sit him down last night and tell him to stop shooting.

what is rj talking about? last night he couldn't even go after the ball hard after being tipped away by manu and leisurely went after it manu went all the way from behind him to snatch it...rj is full of crap!

marcus responded with a better game btw...

VC > RJ

never thought i would have said that, but it's true

Maybe people should stop ripping RJ and thank him for kicking Marcus in the butt a little and reminding him he's still needed even though he was going to be coming off the bench again. Over the past 7 years RJ has had great stretches and bad stretches, but mostly he's been pretty solid. Marcus has had a handful of good games in his 1.5 years.

Just thought I would provide a little perspective in the middle of a witch hunt.

The funny thing is that people complain when no one on the team is calling anyone out in public/press. When it happens they take offense to the message and turn it back on the messenger. Make up your minds... do you want public disclosure and tough love or do you want to continue questioning peoples hearts and not knowing what goes on behind the closed gym doors?

Except for the Milwaukee game, where he was merely competent, he's sucked badly in the last 4. God help Vince if he ever looked as completely lazy and casual as RJ did when Ginobli beat him to the backcourt for a ball (that Jefferson had mishandled) and proceeded to sail in for an uncontested layup. The calls of "bum" and "dog" on the forums would have known no end.

I don't think RJ is a bum, but I'm definitely disappointed that he's talking in the press about Marcus Williams not "fading away" while making plays like that one and the similarly idiotic, lazy play against Chicago where he was gathering himself for a fancy open court dunk and took so much time that he had his shot blocked from behind. If he ever had pretense about being a "leader" . . .</div>
I agree, he's totally out of it. Think the Kidd thing stung him hard.

</div>
But you do agree that he has stunk it up the last couple of games at least.
