Rob Zombie to direct Blob remake

I dunno how he will turn a blob movie into torture porn, but I'm sure he'll try.

The Blob (That Girdled the Globe) was released in 1958. It starred film legend Steve McQueen and is considered a horror classic, though a campy one. It was remade once before, in 1988, by Chuck Russell (The Mask, Bless the Child).

Zombie is best known as a filmmaker for elaborate snuff films such as House of 1000 Corpses and the Halloween remake(s). He used to make pretty decent alt metal with White Zombie in the 90s but seems (to me) to be a walking self-parody nowadays.

I saw him play live a couple of years ago and have to admit he put on a great show.

His movies however are just soft core porn for unimaginative psychopaths. Horrible, just horrible.
