Cano will be suspended for the entire 2021 season for his second positive test for performance enhancing drugs. At 39 when the season ends you have to figure this might be it for him. What a waste.
Yeah Vic I just saw that.

Plain and simple..........a shithead to the umpth degree!

Robinson Cano*

Robby could have easily retired in pinstripes as the greatest Yankee 2Bman ever, have a plaque in Monument Park, and been enshrined as a 1st ballot HOFer.

...but he went for the money instead.

1. Greed

2. Fear

3. Greed

I can just here Cano singing in the shower "I get by with a little help from my friends".

My first and exact sentiments. Talk about a Major Screwing of the Pooch, i.e., Himself! What a fkng waste. Damn good thing he wasn't offered what he wanted in NY.

I wondered back then, if he was being greedy (and he was, self-centered in a bad way), or if he was missing a few marbles, for turning his back on exactly what you spelled out, thinking he'd never amount to much at all in bumfk Seattle, where few become superstars in Safeco. The Kingdome it is Not!

Only one player worth a shit in Seattle's Safeco, may very well only be Ichiro, who would of excelled on an Iceberg or the Sahara, if there were a baseball field there.

Ichiro Suzuki was the first player I ever saw at YS back in 2002 (?) during my first visit to NYC. He is also one of the top 10 best all-around ball players I'v ever seen.

Unless you feel he was using all the time..to me this isn't about greed..he had the money already guaranteed...this is doing what ever it took to earn his contract for his team...

Think about a guy like Chris Davis...Baltimore is paying him what 20 million a year to bat under 200...

Cano cheated not to get paid but to help his team at what ever cost.

Just a different take as I don't condone anyone taking drugs

No, it was greed...make no mistake about it...the Yanx made him a more than fair offer. (reportedly 7 years/$175 Mil)...while Seattle gave him 10 years/$240 Mil.

Instead of staying in a LHed batter friendly Yankee Stadium, he opted for the money and SAFECO Field...it was all about the money.

That is Correct and as a Yankee he was Lazy and never Hustled around The Bases.

Lil, I read an article about Cano and players from the DR and surrounding areas. Clemente who was from PR had that "loosey goosey/casual" approach to the game which some people incorrectly misconstrued as "lazy" ... difference is, that Roberto Clemente actually hustled when it was required, both in the field and at the plate, while Cano did not.

It's a shame really, because Cano could have easily accomplished so much more.
