After watching the Celtics vs. Miami series; I have decided that we should not pursue Rondo. Even if it's a possibility, he is not the answer IMO. He just cannot score at will and his mid range shooting is streaky at best. He has no outside shot and seems to believe he's a good shooter.

What we need is a solid gun. Someone that can create their shot; but more importantly, someone that has deadly range. It's nice to get others involved; which I believe is a very strong case for Rondo; but we need that guy that keeps the D honest and allows Aldridge to have room down low.

My money goes to Dragic or Nash. Since I think Nash is a little too old for our team; I suspect our sights are set on Dragic. Unless of course; we draft a young PG and have a player like Nash teach and run the offense a couple years until that player gets his ears wet.

My two cents.

RONDO HAS AN EXTENSIVE SECRET COLLECTION OF DOLLS :MARIS61:

Thank you , Mags

The dregs that are this years class of point guards arenot the answer as well. we see what happens when you have a short speedball trys to drive into the trees. Then when the shot fails from range...

An established Point is the way to go.

Apparently Mags is typing and motor boating at the same time. No way he could have meant that?

Yes. We don't want a guy who put up Magic numbers and essentially single-handedly led his decrepit team to 8 minutes away from the finals.

As much fun as it is to make fun of Mags, he's certainly correct that Rondo has a hole in his game with his streaky outside shooting. I'd take him in a heart beat, but I can't help but think how totally unstoppable he'd be if he could just develop a consistent outside shot.

its a well known fact that asians are racist, hence why he wants dragic and nash, and not rondo

forget nash Mags the new GM has already dissed that as he does not fit with the age requirements of a 2-3 yr rebuild/retool. My guess is that we either draft Lillard who appears the best shooter/creator in this draft or we sign Dragic.

I'd take Rondo in a heartbeat, but I wonder how he's going to look when he's not flanked by 3 hall-of-famers? He's not exactly known as the most coachable guy

Yeah, Rondo does have a hole in his game. But he's not the first star player with that problem.

If you don't want one of the top PG's in the league, you're absolutely nuts. Who is better that we can go out and get?

(Yes, we can talk about D-Will, the FA - but you get my point - if you can get Rondo, you get him because he is one of the best PG's in the league.)

Agreed to an extent. I really think he put a lot on himself and has extended the careers of the other 3 guys (or at least extended the time that they've played at their respective performance levels).

When Rondo stands next to Wade, Rondo looks like a midget. I mean dwarf. I mean elf. I mean little person. I mean retard. There, that sounds better.

Rondo is supposedly 6-1 and slight of build. He won't fit into McMillan's system and may not complement Roy.

I don't think we should acquire a fast PG like Rondo. I don't think Oden would be able to keep up.

As I said in my post, I'd happily take Rondo and live with his weak outside shooting. He more than makes up for that deficiency with the rest of his game. That said, I'd say the chances of Boston letting him go are slim to non-existent.

Yeah, I agreed with your post - was just expanding on it in support of it.

As for Boston letting Rondo go.... I also agree on that. I could have seen it BEFORE the playoffs. After his performance, no way do they let him go. Which is why while I would completely support the pursuit of Rondo, it's just not realistic. No my dream ends here (Maybe in 8 years when he's on his last legs).

Could we even trade for him without giving up LMA?

This always seems to be a knock on him. I understand people wanting to use it, but it should be just as easy to shy away and do very little when surrounded by 3 vet HOFs, instead of leading a team. I don't see Mario Chalmers looking like a top 5 PG, and he has 3 very good players in Lebron, Wade and Bosh around him. If all it took was being surrounded by 3 top players, shouldn't Chalmers be in the discussion of top 5 PGs? Maybe Rondo is a very good player.

before his insane playoff performance yes. Now I doubt it. I think we end up with Dragic or Lillard now.
Would love to package 6 and 11 for TRobb and try and sell Williams on a linup of
D Will
Wes
Batum
Thomas Rob
LMA
hard lineup to turn down if he wants to win now.

If Rondo is not the answer, then the question is not about basketball.

I think that's part of the point. The fact that he thinks he can drill the outside shot and inability to listen to his coach; causing me great concern. He seems like a person that only listens to himself. We had a player like that before (Sheed) and his techs used to cause us a lot of pain.

He takes less than 1 3pointer per game I don't believe he thinks at all he can drill it, or he would be taking 3 a game.

Ya know, this cracks me up. Every year the team that plays hard and gets deep in the play offs, well, they become the flavor of the month. Suddenly fans call for us to build a team, or chase a player to try and become that other team.

What most miss is that seldome is the best team built like the one before it. It takes more than a roster, it takes drive and heart to win. By fall, guys will be sayin how great the guard play is for OKC..everyone will be callin for a three guard lineup.

I'm talking less about how good he is/isn't and more about team dynamics and how his ego might become more of a problem when there aren't so many strong personalities around him.

I don't see people saying "Let's build a team like the Celtics." I see people saying we should acquire their PG, who happens to be one of the best in the game.

I consider it wise to pursue the best players in the league, when/if the opportunity arises. Don't you?

Rondo is not The Answer. They're the same size, but this new guy makes shots only when great willpower strikes him like lightning.

Less than a year ago, we dumped Andre Miller because he's not a great outside shooter. Now we want a hobo version of The Answer?

no way. he has never been the best pg. ever.

Maybe not, but there's not many (3 or 4) I'd rather have on my team.

A triple double threat who plays great defense, led the league in assists, isn't too old, has a ton of post-season experience, and has a bit of nasty as well. Yes please.

I wish he could shoot better from the outside and FT line too, but oh well. Not like we'll get him anyways.
