But for Gardner? I don't care for that deal at all. Not to take away from the no no's, NL pitchers generally do not translate well into the AL East. And Cashman isn't exactly the best judge of pitching talent. We're gonna need to score runs in 2014 and BG is a valuable component.
 
...I think for the deal to happen, Bailey would have to be locked up for a few years.
 
200 innings the past two season, strikes guys out and doesn't walk a lot of batters. Wouldn't be the worst trade in the world.
 
...if it's Gardner for 1 year vs Bailey for one year, I think I'd just as soon have Gardner (depending on who else they sign)...but if the deal went down I'd like the Yanx to lock up Bailey for 4-5 years on an incentive laden contract, if he'd do that.

Yeah wouldn't make sense for a one year exchange. Either lock up a contract or get somebody else you can lock in.
