Roy 3x All-star

Only a month ago or less Roy would have probably been considered as only the 5th or 6th guard for a west team that might only pick 4 (with Durant in as a 2/3). His chances of making it likely would have depended on health status those ahead of him.

But in a remarkably short time he has emphatically reclaimed his status as 3rd-best SG in the NBA, and thanks to this performance on nat TV almost certainly reclaimed coaches attentions enough to pass Deron and Billups for consideration.

Barring a lengthy Blazer losing streak during the next 5 weeks which doesn't seem likley the way we are playing, Roy if healthy should be in one way or another (with Kobe, Paul, Nash). If McGrady is voted in it might make things interesting, but it's looking less likely that will happen.

Bayless is gonna have to keep producing to make the soph team. Lots of competition there.

Has anyone else noticed that Roy started to really produce again - once Oden got hurt? I love Brandon too, but he needs the ball, and maybe the spotlight, to shine.

im not sure if it is so psychological as that but his production spike has coincided almost exactly with oden going down.

on a side note, LMA is still putting up crap numbers.

It's amazing what happens when the organization decides to let their All-Star be an All-Star, and not to bog down the offense through an offensive project who isn't ready for it.

If the team just let's Oden be Oden when he comes back, he'll be a 15/12/2.5 guy and not inhibit the much better offensive players Roy/LMA.

That's fine. The team needs a low post scorer, and I still think Oden/LMA can develop a high-low post game. What I don't like is the Oden Iso, where he's on the block, a guard is feeding him from the wing, and the other three players stand on the other side of the court with their thumbs up their butts.

agreed, i think he needed to earn the ball with superior position under the basket. no point getting him the ball 15 feet out.

I'd like to see LMA at the foul line, though, instead of standing on the opposite wing. The few times the team did that this year, either Oden or LMA scored on nice interior passes from the other. I also recall Miller getting a few easy lay-ups from Oden off of an LMA pick near the foul line.

Oden could average 12 ppg if he never caught a pass and only rebounded.

a great pick and roll pg would help a bit too, watching nash and amare is so amazing, makes you think why everybody doest run the exact same play.

When the team sent cutters through the middle with Oden on the block, either he dumped it off (the couple to Miller stick out to me) or skip-passed it to the open 3pt shooter. Leaving him alone like he's Hakeem isn't productive.

Then again, actually passing to him on the move would be pretty beneficial, also.

5-10 post feeds is a bad thing? I'd rather see him get more considering he's an excellent passer and he converts over 60% of his field goal attempts.
