Roy #5 in NBA.com MVP power ranking.

dont know if anyone has posted this but thought it was thread worthy, especially about what they had to say about him...

The fact that Tracy McGrady is ahead of this guy in All-Star voting is a joke. In fact, only Kobe and perhaps Nash should be ahead of Roy, whose game inexplicably continues to improve just when you thought he had maxed out. It is said in Portland that Roy is the biggest reason that owner Paul Allen decided not to sell. Rose City denizens should thank him with a few more All-Star votes.

Last week he came in at number 4 but Nash jumped ahead of him this week.

Players and coaches should decide who's in the all star game. I know they'd never do it, because they're afraid of pissing off the public. Oh well.

It'd be interesting to see who'd get in based on those two groups combined...

Maybe they could do it for fun...?

It was bad enough when the Chinese were stacking the voting for Ming alone, but McGrady and Brooks are now benefitting from it as well.

Of course Roy is 5th! It was laughable that Mook thought Monta Ellis was on Roy's level. Roy is a lock for the All Star game and if the Blazers finish with a top 4 seed, Roy will get MVP votes. If we get the #2 seed, he may actually win it. It would be a feel good story that I could see the voters embracing.

Yes. If a team loses 7-9 of their top 10 scorers from last season, and get CARRIED by Brandon Roy to 55+ wins, why wouldn't he win it? He would easily be everything the MVP award represents. He'll at least get votes.

Let's put it this way. The MVP award basically goes to the best player on the team with the best regular season record. How else did Dirk beat out LeBron, Kobe, Wade, & Nash for it in 2006?

If the Blazers have a record that is ALMOST the best and it was done on a team with the most injured games in the history of the NBA, Roy should be viewed as the favorite.
