Roy officially out tonight

Is Bayless out too? I hope Batum can play longer minutes than he has been...

After sitting out all these games he better not play in the AS game.

i think its become clear... roy is out till after the break.

and who knows if he returns then.

Andre Miller will just have to have another game like he had in Dallas and the Blazers will be able to have Webster and Batum on Kobe all night. If the Lakers are smart they'll just pound the ball inside all night, but there's always a good chance Kobe turns into a ball hog again and have one of his famous 9-31 nights.

I don't expect much from Bayless with a bum ankle and deep thigh bruise; he makes his living by being quicker and stronger than the opposition and without those advantages he's going to really struggle to have any kind of (positive) impact.

According to Quick Bayless will start.

Bayless and Miller should not start together! Start Miller with Rudy and let's get some scoring and some energy going from the start - THEN bring in Bayless to relieve one of these two.

Darn. Guess we have almost no chance now against the Lakers.

So much for Quick's inane thought that Roy being questionable for this game was possibly a "smokescreen" to fool the Lakers (Quick said this in the Quick Podcast). When Quick said this, I knew that Roy was probably not going to play, since Quick gets it wrong so often.

So what was the point of Roy having that surgery? Wasn't it supposed to speed up the healing process? It's been two weeks now.

kpee "brandon will miss 7-10 days" lmao

just like greg a "knee bruise" and would be "fine"

27 days later

I agree. This is a joke.

I'd rather they just moved to Seattle, or Baltimore.

Get the fuck out of my city!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Bayless will play. I think we should just sit him out to tbh. No real reason to further injury on anything else. You could tell this injury was affecting him in the third quarter during the Spurs game, I think it will have that same affect tonight, but we will see.

Roy will be back after the all star break most likely.

Maybe it would have been even longer if he hadn't had the procedure. To my knowledge it was really a surgery though, just injecting plasma or whatever in his leg..

"Just around the next bend..."

But, it's good he's not playing. Does it give any advantage to the Blazers to be telling everyone he might be coming back soon, even if they know he won't be back until after AS game? Like the other teams have to spend time game planning in the event he plays? If so, please continue to tell us he might be playing the next game.

See you in a couple weeks Brandon!

no kidding ....worst kept secret in the nba at this point. lets just hope we can get 1 win before break

can the blazers just get it over with and say...

"roy will return after the all star break and will not participate in all star game"

Yeah, much better to placate irritating fans than to make the other teams work harder game planning...

I think that's the right decision.

100% agree no huge rush... he needs to play imo the first game after the AS break no matter what to test it out... even if it's as a backup... but that's just my thinking... give him rest until then... and the extra time off because of the AS game.

I suppose they could just say that, but then they might actually be reasoning sorts of people who want to see whether he's actually healed enough to play by Tuesday or Wednesday.

BTW, Roy's already said that if he can't go in these last Blazer games before the break, he probably won't play in the All-Star Game.

By missing tonight's contest versus the Lakers, Roy said Friday he is unlikely to play in the NBA All-Star game — scheduled Feb. 14 in Arlington, Tex. — if he sits out the Blazers' final two games prior to the All-Star break.

Even if he plays in the final two games he shouldn't play in the AS game. He wants his rest so he should take advantage of it. Playing in the AS game after sitting out all these games would be ridiculous imo.

I'm pretty sure that he's rested enough after missing all of these games. Assuming his hamstring is healed enough that he plays the next two games, he should be good for 20 minutes of PT in an exhibition basketball game. Sitting out the AS game if he's healthy would be ridiculous, imo.

If Denver can win in LA without Anthony, then we can certainly beat LA in Portland without Roy.

The Blazers will win tonight anyway. MIXUM will post that he knew they'd win all along and that Roy is expendible and should be traded. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
