31pts (11-13 FG, 5-7 3pt), 8rebs, 3asts, 4stls, 1to in 32mins.

But Spain lost to Argentina in the consolation game. Spain was down 25, but Rudy led them back to tie it.

Amazing game from Rudy.

Good for Rudy. Now if he could just bring that effort more than once in a while, he could actually have a good job in the NBA.

Final tournament stats: 25.6mpg, 15.6pts, 6rebs, 1ast, 1.7stls, 1.4 to, 62%FG, 46% 3pts, 92% FT through 9 games.

I think that should increase his value.

Prigioni kicked Rubio's ass. Age and guile beats youth and flash. In general, Rubio looked pretty bad this tournament. His weaknesses were really exposed and Spain didn't get to run as much. I imagine Scariolo will be fired and some of the old guard will retire and the team will be built around Rubio and Rudy (and Marc Gasol, I guess) and be more pressing-and-running in future. (Which might mean that Sergio finally gets back on the team.)

The rebounding was really an eye-opener. Didn't he lead Spain in rebounding? I guess he was being played at SF (so Navarro could be SG) but still, kudos.

Raul Lopez should be replaced by El Chaco. Mumbru and Garbageosa should quit.

Gasol had four more than him for the whole tournament. But still, he really hustled.

I'm watching the Bronze Medal game online. The picture is much clearer on atdhe than ESPN3. (I compared.)

How did Sergio do.............

GOD if only we had drafted Rudy instead of Oden then we would be winning multiple rings. It's so lame we didn't draft this incredible talent and instead got Oden...oh wait sorry, forgot which irrelevant FIBA performance we were talking about.

(Durant's regular/post season performance is what matters who gives a fuck about stupid FIBA?!?!)

I don't see how Durant's performance matters. He isn't going to help the Blazers win a championship. I don't give a fuck about stupid Durant.

Right but you see, most members of this forum live in a world of what if's instead of dealing with reality. We have Oden and therefore it is LOGICAL to want him to be healthy and succeed. He has not remained healthy thus far. It is possible the injuries will continue, it's possible they will cease. We will see this year.

But no, we need to go off the fucking deep end every time we pass on a player in the draft.

I still say Michael Jordan is the only one that really matters that we have passed on.

Do people still whine about that? God I hope not, that would be really REALLY sad. Sort of like pining after Durant oh 3 years after we didn't draft him. Get over it, we got Oden now lets send positive thinking his way. Bitching about stuff in the past is worthless, time to move on.

Chris Paul or Deron Williams? ;)

I find this bolded statement oddly ironic.

No one even mentioned Oden or Durant in this thread until you did.

People have bitched about drafting Oden over Durant in the past. Time to move on.

Everything that has happened prior to me typing this sentence is in the past. Are we only allowed to speculate on the future?

Time to move on!!!

I don't know how to type in green you dork!

Right, because there aren't any active threads on the first page about Durant. Give me a fucking break. Oh and don't be offended by this, by the time you read it I will have written it in the past so get over it!

I figured you would say that. But what did I say that was incorrect? Oden has been injured and people should want him to be healthy. Did I say he has been healthy? No, I said he has not remained healthy thus far, and the injuries will continue or they won't.

Seems the people who are convinced Oden is garbage are the ones who have the bizarre viewpoint from a Blazer fan perspective. Do you want him to be injured all the time Nik? I certainly don't and I can't imagine you do. It seems some do though because it would prove them right. Seems kinda crazy thinking to me.

I think I have a quite firm grip on reality actually. Either Oden will continue to be injured or he won't. I simply don't understand the fold up the tent and go home mentality. I root for Blazers as long as the wear the red and black and I certainly don't take delight in their injuries or make fun of them for it...

My point is that YOU brought up the Durant/Oden debate in THIS thread. This was a thread about Rudy and you derailed it into the muck with that. (As hard as it may be to believe) Not every thread is Oden related--like this one--until you unnecessarily came to Oden's defense when no one even typed his name.

And don't worry about offending me...it's the internet.

It's perfectly fine to rip people who question Oden's durability and longevity in the league, but I just thought it odd that you talk about "what ifs" and "reality" when the reality of Oden so far has been a massive string of misfortune and his future is nothing but "what ifs" at this point.

I'll try to be as clear as I possibly can, I don't wish Oden any ill, I want him to succeed, and I don't take any kind of delight in being "right" if he fails again, I just express my opinion about what I think his chances are of ever being a dependable cog, nothing more nothing less.

You have a giant pic of him in your sig in a wheel chair...not exactly a supportive gesture on your part.

Pointing to oden's string of injuries is fine and dandy, but you are projecting as much as anyone else when you assume the injuries will continue. It's all conjecture.

Mr. Self Destruct, I'm well aware I brought it up in this thread about Rudy. I could care less if Rudy plays well in FIBA, sorry to cross pollinate threads.

The pic is a joke, I put it in my sig because I think it's funny. As for "supporting" Oden who cares? Does it make him more or less likely to succeed or fail if people support him? His knees don't ride on the wishes and hopes of fans.

But back on topic: If one subscribes to the notion that time is a linear phenomena -- that reality is only composed of the present and the past -- then in that sense "reality" has been a huge downer for Oden and knowing how injuries tend have a cumulative property rather than occuring as a string of disconnected singular events then I think it's fair to say that the past is actually is a decent predictor of future performance. I sincerly hope I'm wrong.

16 PPG
6 RPG

I wasn't expecting these types of rebounding numbers from Rudy. Impressive.
