he Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings have reached tentative agreement on a trade sending Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons to the Kings for Brad Miller and John Salmons, ESPN.com.

One source said the Bulls players were pulled off the team bus Wednesday afternoon and were told they had been traded.

Michael Ruffin of the Bulls also was told be was being traded to Portland in a separate deal, the source added.

Another source said the trade was expected to be finalized by Wednesday evening.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

thats weird....maybe another team wanted ruffin? so kp went and got him?? whats his contract?

nvm who would even want ruffin

Re: Ruffin to Portland

maybe Tom Penn has something up his sleeve?!?!
I guess if it saves the team money?

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Or more likely, part of a bigger deal. Hinrich would be my guess.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Meh, that may be a sign that we are not trading Raef. Setting ourselves up for expirings this offseason to have cap space? Who knows...

Sad... I would LOL if this was our only deal. That would be awesome.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Michael Ruffin was the idiot that threw the ball up in the air and Morris Peterson caught it and hit a 3 to send the game into OT.

Diogu is essentially an expiring, too, though. So I guess if this trade really happens, the Blazers think Ruffin can be a more useful backup power forward.

Maybe it's the classic "challenge" trade...each team trades a disappointing player believing the other team's guy is a bit better.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Ruffin?

You sure that isn't a holdover from the JailBlazers days saying we got a "ruffian"? ;)

isnt ike an expiring tho?

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Huh. Guess the thread should've been titled "Merged: Wallace and Butler and RJeff and Ruffin, oh, my!"

Mixum already had a post planned on the devastating effects that Ruffin will add in clutch situations. Basically -
:ohno::ohno::ohno:

Re: Ruffin to Portland

I'll be truly upset if this if this is KP's only deal

Re: Ruffin to Portland

So for a nickname, should we call him Ruffin the Muffin?

Re: Ruffin to Portland

I remember that game. I spilled my food and drank every where. All my friends and I went crazy. I love Ruffin.

I hate you guys! You have to admit my thought process made you think for at least 5 seconds.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

I will miss Ike, if only because I will miss saying DNPiagu during games.

Now I have to think of a nickname for Ruffin. How about "Cap Space"?

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Odd...this MUST be part of something greater!!! Ruffin only makes $797,581...

Maybe Ike has a cap hold since he's due for a qualifying offer maybe? Of course.. we could just renounce him then. So I don't know what the point was.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

This is intesne... it feels like everything is going down right now. I don't want to leave my computer right now, I'm just refreshing my page.

Does he make less than Ike? Maybe we are trying to adjust our salary or something as part of a bigger trade... IDK. If we really did trade Ike for ruffin, I actually think that means something is probably going down rather than not.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

maybe we somehow take on less salary by swapping Ruffin with Ike, freeing us up to take on a bad contract along with a badass SF? trade exceptions?

Re: Ruffin to Portland

Channing Frye is crying somewhere. Not even turtles could make him smile that goofy smile now.

Re: Ruffin to Portland

I figured KP wouldn't make a big trade before tonight's game.

Yeah, Portland would have renounced him.

I hope this is part of a bigger deal. Bring on Deng. Chicago got a replacement in Salmons. ;)

hahahhaaha....dumbass, classic

Re: Ruffin to Portland

All I know is that Ike for Ruffin doesn't work under the cap.

It's either part of a bigger deal, or there is a TE involved coming to Portland

All I know is this better not be KP's big move

Re: Ruffin to Portland

What about trade exemptions?

Edit - it was already said.

Could really be anything.
