TPS teacher who watched Obama sign bill is laid off

throwing money at a problem = best possible solution.

That actually is pretty funny. Betcha Sarah didn't think it up herself.

The article gets it wrong, of course:
...

It's a trillion and one.

That's it. I'm voting barfo!

The problem is, govt. doesn't spend in increments of $1.

It is closer to spending in increments of $1 than it is to spending in increments of $999 trillion.

Not really, and that's Palin's point.

This isn't funny, it's just good!

This is why our schools cost so much. They spend the money on frivolous positions other than teachers.

TPS hasn't spent a dollar of the $7.6 million in teacher rehire money it received from the Aug. 10 bill, opting instead to save it for next school year to rehire or retain a myriad school employees - probably not teachers.

He said the district might use the money to hire its own crossing guards, instead of using an outside company, and to hire more bus drivers to restore service to where it was before last year's budget cuts.

I went through 2 decades of schooling without ever riding a school bus or even seeing a crossing guard.

IMO, a school needs (ranked in order of importance) teachers, a janitor, a secretary, and a Principal.

When I was in school us (older) kids were the crossing guards.
