David Letterman, move over: Sarah Palin’s latest target is “Family Guy,” the animated series broadcast on Fox, the sister network of cable station Fox News, where Palin just so happens to work as a commentator.

The former Alaska governor and would-be veep and her daughter Bristol have attacked “Family Guy” for mocking son Trig’s Down syndrome in Sunday’s episode. In it, Chris Griffin is dating a girl with Down syndrome, and when he asked her what her parents do, she says, “My dad’s an accountant, and my mom is the former governor of Alaska.”

“This world is full of cruel, cold-hearted people,” Palin tells Bill O’Reilly on his show Tuesday night. “When are we going to say this stuff isn’t really funny?” She also differentiated between Fox's entertainment arm from Fox's politico(-entertainment) arm as "Fox Hollywood."

On her Facebook page, Palin called the episode “a kick in the gut,” and Bristol was even harsher: “If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks.”

“Family Guy” creator Seth McFarlane tells the Los Angeles Times in a statement that he’s “an equal opportunity offender . . . From its inception, Family Guy has used biting satire as the foundation of its humor.”

Fo' sho'. That episode is somewhat weak. But that Palin ho is trying to guilt her way into the White House. There's enough dumb people into Alaska to elect her into a snow cave, but I'd like to think there are enough intelligent people (or few enough retards to forget to vote) in America to avoid the catastrophe of electing her to the White House.

There were enough dumb people to elect a completely unqualified Obama to the White House so who knows?

That rant is probably my favorite scene of all time on Family Guy.

I once had a "house guest" (wife's friend) who lived with us for more than two months. Kept pissing me more and more off, but because of her difficult life circumstances (her mom had died recently and she was getting divorced) I kept letting it stew longer and longer. I finally, out of the blue, ripped off a Quagmire-esque rant that actually left me, the wife and her all kind of stunned afterward. She was out of the house a week later.

Anyway, great piece of writing. You just never see one likable character just tear another really likable character a new asshole like that on tv.
