Trade rumors regarding Detroit open to dealing Max Scherzer, due to be a FA next year. What would it take?

...I dunno...but I did hear a rumor about NY and Detroit discussing swapping Gardner for Jackson, so maybe there's some communication of some kind between the two clubs. Sometimes an initial discussion with a club can lead to something big...who knows?

59, where did you read that? Haven't heard that one. Did see Yanks turned down Gardner for Phillips last night. They need a second baseman but not sure at his price Phillips would be the answer. Cashman seems to want pitching if he is going to trade Gardner.

I caught the tail end of that Gardner/Jackson conversation mentioned on "Hot Stove" yesterday AM. The way Detroit has made moves this offseason I'd think that Scherzer will be resigned.

...^^^yeah, Hot Stove is where I heard it.

...and yeah, someone would have to absolutely offer something "galactically stupid " in order to pry Scherzer away from Detroit.

Does Detroit have message boards, maybe we could throw in a couple of posters, lol.

A couple/few thoughts re this thread-

Do the Yanks have what it takes to acquire *Scherzer? (remember my hypothetical proposal regarding Kershaw from another thread? lol).... does this ring a bell '59?
(* has been an outstanding pitcher and reigning Cy Younger)

I just might do a Gardner for Jackson deal.

Does anyone else get the feeling having Phillips AND minus Gardner would have a significant CHANGE in the clubhouse dynamics?.....not sure if it would be for better or worse.

...not sure what your inane trade proposal from 2 weeks ago (Nova, Gardner and Heathcott for Kershaw) has to do with this thread...but babble on.

The only way the Yankees will ever have Kershaw in a Yankee Uniform will be for the low low price of 250,000,000 to 300,000,000. The Dodgers would have their franchised revoked if they traded him as it stands today.

^^^ yup, Kershaw puts butts in the seats every time he pitches. No way LA is giving that up.
