The article kind a lost me when he switched from refraction to the practical of computing or photon memory. Huh? that is one large disconnect, we have for a long time transmitted information in code via light in a black light tube but using light as memory media is entirely a different deal that they drop on us right out a no where. The correlation of quantum logic to a photonic logic gate escapes me. I guess I am supposed to know something that I don't.
How can you expect a quantum particle that has no mass nor polarity to have more than one state? It takes two definable states to store information of the smallest quantity. Err at least I thought so.
