Sounds like he's a very long ways from returning, he's able to walk but no jumping

"return of Scoot Henderson to the Portland Trail Blazers is not imminent, as it appears his torn hamstring will fall into the longer forecasts of his being sidelined.

Entering his eighth week since tearing his left hamstring, the third-year point guard told The Athletic he has “made a lot of progress,” but he said his return to basketball activity remains “week to week.”

Henderson said he is scheduled to meet this week with Dr. Courtney Watson, the Blazers’ director of health and performance, who will outline a course of action. Henderson, who tore his hamstring a week before training camp while scrimmaging at the team’s facility, said he can walk without pain but has been limited to stationary shooting and dribbling, in addition to upper-body weightlifting.

“I can walk around to spots, but no jumping, no exploding,” Henderson told The Athletic before Tuesday’s game with the Phoenix Suns. “I shoot free throws, some ballhandling, but without moving much.”

The Blazers initially said Henderson would return to basketball activity in four to eight weeks, but general manager Joe Cronin later said that timeline was intentionally vague because the healing process for hamstring injuries is difficult to predict.

“I’ve been told, you know, it could be as quick as four (weeks), and it could take as long as 10 (weeks),” Cronin said at media day in September. “And sometimes, you know, if they’re stubborn, you won’t feel right for even longer than that. So we’re just gonna rest and rehab and really be diligent about getting him back.”

Henderson has traveled with the team and been on the bench in street clothes throughout all 14 games this season, and he said he takes part in team film sessions as well as private film study.

“I know some players with injuries like this, they have to be away from the team, but I’ve been able to be with them, be in the film room with them. So there’s been a lot of film study.”

Henderson’s status is of particular concern to a Blazers team that is ravaged by injury, particularly at guard. Starter Jrue Holiday on Tuesday missed his second straight game with a sore right calf, and guards Blake Wesley (broken right foot) and Matisse Thybulle (left thumb surgery) are sidelined indefinitely. The closest thing to a point guard on the team is two-way rookie Caleb Love, who has played in five games. Without Holiday the past two games, interim coach Tiago Splitter has given most of the ballhandling duties to Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija.

In addition to the immediate need for his return, Henderson is in a pivotal season of evaluation from the Blazers. The team picked up his team option in October, placing him under contract through the 2026-27 season, but ideally, they would like an extended look before having to decide whether to offer him an extension next October or let him go into free agency. In 128 games, the former No. 3 pick has averaged 13.3 points and 5.2 assists while shooting 34 percent from 3-point range.

Henderson said he remains upbeat and optimistic he will be able to make a quick return to the court once he is cleared to start on-court activities. He said he knows he will need time to improve his stamina and run the rust off, but he doesn’t anticipate an extended runway until he plays.

“I feel like I will be good,” Henderson said. “I feel like I’ve always been good like that (coming off injury). I’m sure I will be tired, because you can’t compare basketball activity with anything else, so for a few games I will feel it.”

This is the longest stretch Henderson has been sidelined in his two-plus seasons. In his rookie season, he missed nine games with a right ankle sprain and bone bruise, and later eight games with an abductor injury. In his second season, he was sidelined four times, the longest being the final eight games with a concussion.

All told, Henderson has missed 54 games because of injuries"

"All told, Henderson has missed 54 games because of injuries"
And that’s why the story says he has played 128 games? I still don’t follow your question. I missed the point I think?
