Scuderi 4 years, 13.5 to Pens

A 34 year old relic got 4 years. Unbelievable. I wanted him for like 2 years at 3 million. These teams are delusional.

Here is where you and I differ a little dump. Do I like the contract NO. Do I think in 2 years we are saying this is bad YES. But for now/next year, this is a good move for the Pens. They need dmen like Scuderi. He makes them better next season. Just does.

So I view it two ways. Now is good for the Pens. Helps them. Down the line bad for the Pens. Will hurt them in 2 years unless the cap goes WAY up.

Long term...AWFUL contract. But that is what this day is all about, always has been.

Scuderi is a 5th or 6th defenseman on a solid team. His contract was a top 4 guy. It was as dumb contract.

We agree there for sure. But that still doesn't mean he won't help them next season and make them a better team. I think he does that.

hard to go against making that move as it fills a major need on that team. overpaid in terms of years..but the goal is to win the Cup not be in the best cap position
