QUOTE

"Shoot, the kid is as strong as an ox," Richard Jefferson said yesterday, before an open public session at Fairleigh Dickinson University. "Omigosh. He's 230 pounds with four percent body fat. I'm 240 and 7.2, but (four percent) -- that's ridiculously low. He's basically made out of muscle. Pretty much every pound on his body is muscle."

At least conditioning won't be an issue with him. It wasn't too long ago that he said he was out of shape.

No surprise. The kid was built before he entered the NBA, put him on a weight training program and he'll be freakin Arny back in the day. Buffest Net...quite possibly ever, even over K-Mart. People forget, K-Mart was a skinny kid coming into the league.

I just have a special feeling about this kid. Like, by next year, he'll develop into the starter and a big contributor. I was shocked to hear him shooting threes.

A percentage that low is actually not good for the body. I believe 6-12 is considered very good, but lower than that isnt recommended.

Because he is a mustle man. I remember Michael Jordan's body fat is almost around3% or 4%.

4% body fat could be unhealthy, but some people just have it in their genetics.

Damn lucky! I wish I had that little body fat, and was that strong. (I'm prolly at around 15-20%)

I like that, I'd like to see him run the break with Kidd...and maybe even play a little post defense, he could prolly hold his own against most of the bigs in the league.

I think such numbers are not entirely true. I heard once that when you hear that athletes have 3% or 5% body fat, it means that they have 3% or 5% above some base minimum, not that it is the total. I don't know if that is true or not, but I agree that not only is 4% unhealthy, I doubt there are many people in the world at that point.

RJ's 240? I thought he lost some weight after that whole 'move RJ to the 4' experiment backfired last year.

Sean Williams being made of muscle != him being a basketball player.

Everything I'm hearing about him is exciting, and it sounds like he has good instincts, but the big questions about him are "OK, he's a great athlete but a) can he play? (see Pietrus, Mikael) and
cool.gif
does he care? (see Carter, Vince)" This statement answers none of them.

Still... damn. He sounds like the next Theo Ratliff, and that's pretty damn good for a 20-something draft pick.

Oddly enough, at least for those that enjoy making the comparisons, Kenyon is also reportedly down to 4% body fat.

He needs to be in shape. He is one of the best help defenders in college I have ever seen. He knows how to move his feet so well.

4% is not to unhealthy. These are freaks of nature, they can have 4%. I wonder where that 4 is? I bet he has got some love handles.

Yeah, The rookie votes think Sean Williams is one of the best defenders in the 2007 draft along with Oden, Brewer...

If Boone is not ready, just give all his minutes to Sean. This kid should play and needs play.

When I was watching him at the open practice I thought he might be able to play some 3. He seamed pretty quick.

They said he can defend position 3 to 5, he is really a good defender.

Darmstrong, Antoine, Williams, Boone, Collins. Damn that would be some serious defense right there. Plenty of shotblocking at least (perhaps Magloire for Boone?)

Who knows maybe we'll see some of that if Williams jumpshot isn't a complete myth.

I'd love to see that. seriously. I hope he gets some burn in the preseason.

he has amazing shot blocking abilitites and he can defend very well also has effortless athletisism
