The dedication of Bowman Park was the first leg of the Nets' "Celebrating Bergen County" campaign.
"This is an ongoing effort to increase interest in pockets of Bergen County," said Mayor Paul Sarlo, a state senator who has been active in promoting the Nets.
Basketball and team accessibility was the event's theme as the Nets showcased rookie power forward Ryan Anderson, who made a few dunks for neighborhood teens and signed autographs for fans.
