Whatever the Rangers do, trade deadline, or next year, it needs to start with the defense. They need to be smarter ( I would settle for not quite as stupid), much more physical and they need to be able to shoot. But they need to start with the defense.

Team is awful, but it is nice to see Pouliot scoring some goals. Up to 5 now. Maybe he can score 12 or so for the season. He was a big downer for me because I liked that signing and was hoping for 15 goals on the 3rd line. Guy has skill, just wish he would bring it every game. Oh well.

There is no real physical skilled size on D or upfront. That's just the reality of this team. VERY easy to play against, and that is sad.

One thing I'v noticed is all teams come into the garden especially on this homestand and play like it is the playoffs for them. The rangers on the other hand are just sleep walking half the time. This long homestand is the worst thing that could've happened to them. They need to get the hell away from the city.

Most teams come into the Garden believing that all they have to do is be more physical, and they will come away with a win.

I love the fact that Boyle plays fearless, but I really wish he would stop trying to fight. It's just painful ... lol

Thankfully Boyle has 40 or so games (or less if traded) in a Rangers jersey

Dis, Boyle will be in demand, and if he goes somewhere with some offense he will score a few goals as well as pick up some assists.

The team has more confidence in front of Talbot right now. Assinine why they waited 8 games to play him.

Don't care - He is very easy to replace

I'm a Ranger first, and if they can get better by moving him, then I'm all for it. But if he were very easy to replace, why hasn't he been moved?

Just turned on game and see kreider only had 8 minutes of ice time thru 2 periods. Did he screw something up or is av putting arguably his best player in the doghouse for some reason?

Just checked nhl ice tracker and CK has least minutes of any forward even 2 minutes less than dorsett. AV.... WTF

Sam & Joe Mich pointed it out as well but when AV finally put him back in rotation he scored on a changeup. I think AV wants Kreider to be more physical, he absolutely blew up a Wild dman clearing the puck in the 3rd, got a nice roar from the crowd.

This team needs to play as hard in front of Hank as it does Cam. The reality is that they play harder in front of Cam because they don't view him as some savior. They simply need to realize when Hank is in goal that this team isn't good and won't win without hard work.

Perhaps it is th opponent also taking a night off when preparing for Cam instead of Hank in that there is a sense of well he is just a backup vs we have to play our A+ game to score on Hank

I don't know. I thought Minnesota came out flying. The Rangers actually got hard working games from their role players. When Hank is in goal it's like, "Hank will save us and Nash will score a couple and we will win 2-1."

Ride the hot hand while you can, i guess. Ultimately if this team is going to win anything it won't be with Talbot between the pipes, so it's imperative to get Henrik back on his game.
