Bernie's filibuster is being regarded as the first true filibuster in the Senate in nearly 20 years [Sen. Al D'Amato (R-N.Y.), 1992]. Sen. Sanders made his case to the President over the span of nearly nine continuous hours. Kind of amazing that a 69-year old was able to stand and deliver for pretty much the whole work day. In addition to ample media attention Sen. Sanders attracted over 4,000 new Twitter followers. His name trended at the top of Twitter and Google searches.
