From O-Live:
What the Blazers want:
A veteran, defensive-minded point guard or small forward. The Blazers' roster is packed with young talent, but a veteran would bring leadership, help a push toward the playoffs and take some pressure off of Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden.
Caron Butler:
Wizards are desperate to shed salary and his deal is easier for another team to swallow than the longer-term deals of Antawn Jamison or Gilbert Arenas.
Butler would be a good fit and Washington would like LaFrentz's contract (plus young players), but would Portland want Butler's contract?
Chris Bosh:
One of the best power forwards in the game, Bosh is averaging nearly a double double this season, at 22.7 points and 9.5 rebounds.
Would Pritchard include Aldridge in a deal for Bosh? If not, a deal is unlikely.
Amar'e Stoudemire:
Phoenix appears ready to rebuild, but still will want value for a star big man.
DOES THE DEAL WORK FOR THE BLAZERS?
The Oregonian: No. He fits the old culture, not the new one. (These talks have reportedly come and gone anyway.)
