Finally a fight worth watching?

¡Viva México!

Now, another fighter is claiming to have the secret to beating Mayweather and another opposing team is tossing around the idea of a blueprint. This should be old hat for Mayweather, just another fight against another foe -- but it isn't. Or, at least, Mayweather may be giving the impression that this challenge may be different than the rest.

"And it's so crazy that Canelo is such a big star but he's never been on pay-per-view unless he was on my undercard," Mayweather said during the Los Angeles stop of the multi-city Mayweather-Alvarez press tour. "But he's such a big star. He's such a big star, Oscar."

Fans have seen the arrogant Mayweather, the condescending Mayweather, and even the fake-modest Mayweather. But the world had yet to see a Mayweather so aggressively antagonistic toward his opponent and the opposing team.

Although occasionally trying to reel it in for the sake of looking like the noble elder statesman he'd like to be, there's something about this upcoming challenge that brings out the nastiness.

"I'm fighting Dennis the Menace, I mean, Carrot Top, I mean, Blake Griffin, I mean, Chucky," Mayweather joked during a training session filmed by Showtime's camera crews.

Perhaps Mayweather feels that this is a real challenge coming his way, one where the challenger has at least a decent chance of rising to the occasion.

More likely, though, Mayweather may resent the fact that he has to share the main stage with a 23-year-old fighter who, under normal circumstances, would be fighting on the undercard, playing chief support to Mayweather for at least a couple more years.

Throughout the press tour for the fight, Mayweather had to bite his tongue and watch as Canelo's star was built at his expense. The Mexican's rabid following showed up to the public events in droves, giving the appearance that he and Mayweather were on equal footing in the area of drawing power.

If his fight with Trout was any indication Canelo is a bit too raw for this fight. Money's picking the perfect time to fight him.

Yah, I don't think Canelo is seasoned enough to hang with Mayweather. I expect Mayweather to pick his way to a UD.

I think it's going to be a great fight

During the pre-fight press conference on Wednesday, Canelo accused the five-division world champion of manipulating the fight by forcing him to accept the 152-pound catchweight stipulation. The Mexican also revealed that Money's team even tried to book the fight at 147 pounds, which he believed very impossible to do.

"They wanted me to go to 147," Alvarez said earlier this week when he said he was already down to 154 pounds. "I said that was physically impossible. Then they wanted 150 and then 151. I wanted to make the fight so I agreed to 152. Then they forced me to be quiet about it," Canelo said during the press conference

Mayweather's representative, Leonard Ellerbe, quickly defended his client and explained they only used the catch-weight stipulation to take advantage of Mayweather's A-side status.

"They're the ones who said they would fight at a lower weight," Ellerbe said during the press conference. "We can't help it Alvarez has idiots for managers, but we're going to take every advantage they give us."

With the war of word between the two camps all but a thing of history, Mayweather and Canelo are all set for what could be the most electrifying boxing match in history. 'The One' has already shattered several records, including gate receipts, and is expected to break more boundaries when PPV revenue is announced next week.

Of course, before the firecrackers start popping on Saturday, Canelo left with a resounding message at Friday's weight in - 'I was born ready.'

The problem with Mayweather and the thing I don't like is he has always taken fights that he know he can win and they are pretty predictable. That's why it's hard to really call him the Best but ya he sure is all about the money. He would naver fight Pac Man.

Somebody post a link when you find it!

Where's the "It doesn't matter, boxing's fixed" option?

About to start.

Mayweather remains the most elusive boxer of all time. Defensive mastermind. Not such a thrill for fans...

CJ Ross is a fucking lunatic for scoring it a 114-114 draw. 116-112 and 117-111 is still too close!

Ross also called Bradley over Pacquiao.

Mayweather humble and appreciative in the post-fight.

Danny Garcia looks like the next challenger.

Maywether wouldn't last in the UFC.

Money may just made more $$$ on this bout than he entire UFC roster will make in a year.

Dana White makes Don King look like an amateur in how he exploits his fighters while he makes huge bank on PPV.

I think if I started training really hard I could take Mayweather. I'm way faster.... and meaner.

I know I could take Justin Bieber.

By scoring the bout a draw she ensured that all the money bet on Mayweather to win by UD went to the house.
