If any of you are going to the game on SAT, please please please get loud to start the game. And this is a positivity thread. I don't need your rational negativity in here. :MARIS61:

We GOT DIS

Just win at home and have two shots to steal one on the road

still not worried. we haven't lost yet.

Remember. This is all gravy. San Antonio is a DAMN good team. I feel no shame in getting our ass kicked right now. Shit happens. We got further than anybody expected us too... even mags!

Forgetting what Dame can do to this team:

If this is gravy, then where are the biscuits.

The Spurs were in this same position two years ago, then dropped four straight. It can be done.

Man I miss Dre, missed a real opportunity to swap him for Mo at the deadline

Repped, glad to see some optimism. I won't be worried unless we drop one of those home games.

Evening the series is not impossible. Stotts says we play better with our backs against the wall, here we are with must wins around the corner! I think Will Barton earned some burn at least! Go Blazers! I predicted 7 games and now I hope I'm right

If we find out how to shut down Parker and Splitter, we might have a shot.

Positives:

- We played much better defense in 2nd half
- Barton played well
- T-Rob was great

Lessons:
- Keep playing defense
- Use the bench

Will these spurs fans show up and congratulate us after the Blazers win in 6? I don't give a shit if a couple of them are "classy"...fuck them. We're in a war and I have no interest in conversating with the enemy. SO until the series is over...fuck you spurs fans!! Go Blazers! I'll be at games 3 and 4! :ghoti:

blazers will have to stop the big 3 on the spurs in Game 3 to have a chance. Up to this point only have had to worry bout parker really. Spurs bench will prolly be average at best, Splitter will be typical on defense, prolly a little better on offense, Kawhi will be his usual 15 and 9 self. Big 3 will prolly carry the load big time. Duncan and Ginobli will have to have their best games. Parker will be parker. x factor for the spurs will be danny green or patty mills.

Don't think Pop will change much of anything.

I think the blazers can win Game 3, but I think they have to win convincingly have a shot mentally in Game 4.

I'm confident we'll win game 3. I don't see the Spurs bench keeping up with their blistering shooting. We need to give Barton and T-Rob some more run and build some confidence in the bench.

If we take care of game 3 as I expect we will, game 4 is a toss-up.

This^^

The Spurs CANNOT keep up this hot shooting. And the Blazers CANNOT keep up their perplexing poor shooting. 2 missed dunks, back-to-back for LA? Serrously?

Shooting was better overall in Game 2, and I expect even more improvement in game 3. As long as the Spurs shooting returns to a more realisitc percentage, we will be just fine.

We win game 3

I'm a big Andre fan. However, Stotts has zero interest in a guard who can't shoot threes. So in this case, there was never really an 'opportunity'.

So we lost two games in San Antonio. Big deal. Home teams usually win. Yawn. Margin of victory is irrelevant.

Now it's our turn. Welcome to our house! After we even the series, we only have to steal one on the road and win at home.

We've got the Spurs right where we want them.

Spurs have an amazing road record this season, but I still have faith that we can pull off two wins in a row at home. RIP CITY BABY!

I'm a Utah Jazz fan, and I was randomly reading this thread, and felt the need to respond to this.

Do you realize that you guys had the 28th worst pick and roll defense in the league? And do you realize that the initial option on 80% of the Spurs plays are some variation on the pick and roll? The reason the Spurs are shooting so well is because they're getting wide open shots without even having to run multiple options in their sets. It's like the moment the Inital screen is set, the whole Portland defense gets Into complete disarray.

I just think your focus on hot shooting is misguided, and what you should really be focused on is your pick and roll defense, which is whats causing the Spurs role players to get so many open looks. The difference between how the Mavs defended the pick and roll , and how the Blazers are , is huge. The Spurs role players have been more comfortable in these past two games than the entire Mavs series.

This bold part confuses me. Why would the best bench in the nba be average against one of the least productive benches in the league, on a team that's almost dead last at defending the pick and roll offense?
